TTC with irregular periods

Hi everyone, this is my first thread in this app so I hope I find someone related to my situation.
My and my partner have been trying to conceive for 6 months now. The second month of try I had an irregular period bleeding (black and clothed) for 10 or mored days which I suspect it was an early miscarriage but tests were negative.
🥀 Since then I have had very irregular period. My cycle has always been 28 days but since October it has been around 40-45 days.

Also I am not sure why but the ovulation tests I am using (every month) are showing positive nearly all month along. 🙈 I guess I have problems with my hormones but blood and fertility tests were good apparently.

Currently trying new fertility tablets and new ovulation sticks.

Anyone else trying to conceive with irregular period? 🐥
Best of luck to everyone Halo

What 'blood and fertility tests did you have done within the first 6 months of ttc?

mohacha · 26/04/2020 15:42

As I suspected I had an early miscarriage in October I asked my gp for blood and iron tests and unfortunately I didn't get to see the exact results but they said the blood is good and they've also done a fertility test which comes back fine.
Unfortunately I do not know anymore than this.

Hi I was wondering if and looking for advice I started the pill about July 2018 - April/may 2019 I have had the first “fake period” that u get when u finish the pill then I went a while without the had one in June my prom. then I spotted in August and September I think and November I had brown discharge for 2/3 days then I had the same discharge 21-24th April but the first day it was pink then got a little red in it then went brown when I checked my knickers and have had nothing since then, is this normal? and any advice how to regulate/get my period back? I’m not pregnant as I took a test I just don’t fancy going to the doctor I have bad anxiety and don’t want to be getting needles and tested unless I really need to ! I was just seeing if you know anything to bring it back? Before I do end up having to book an appointment many thanks.

I never have taken pills but I am aware that the body needs time to get back to normal cycles. All I've read about normalising periods is that ginger helps a lot and vitamin B6. But again the quickest way to get this solved will be blood tests. They will be able to check your hormone levels. The brown discharge is apparently old blood but I have had it for more than 10 days in a row back in January which did not make sense.
Sorry for not being able to help but I get better soon 🤗

Hi ladies, I’m bout 14 months TTC and finally went to fertility clinic. My AMH was very high and when I was scanned you could see I had loads of follicles. When I came off pill I’m feb 19 I had withdrawal bleed and no period then until July. Since then they were very irregular so very hard to pinpoint ovulation. In January the clinic recommended OII so I have been taking letrozole. They tell you don’t have sex until u are told so that first month we actually missed ovulation I was devastated, ur doing what ur told and I felt was their fault I missed the key time to conceive. Second month I was due to get trigger shot 17th March and on 16th got a call to say all treatments cancelled they are not trying to get ppl pregnant. Myself and DH Sstill tried but got a BFN. This month tried again using OPK and currently in the TWW but to be honest i feel I’m kidding myself . Good news tho clinics are up and running now tho. I had called to get referral for a lap and dye so waiting for them to call back now to determine next
Course of action.

What a mess with all the lockdowns! I wonder if you were to see your normal doctor would they pay as much attention and would they help as much? Does it always have to be a private clinic. 😔 I am expecting everything to go back to normal and to get a call back from my GP to have a scan and tests again.
Fingers crossed for quick solution for you though 🙏♥️

Well last week when clinics were still in shut down they wouldn’t give me prescription for letrozole told me ring my GP but she told me they were licensed to prescribe those tablets! If u ask me the gps don’t do much with regards to fertility issues well in Ireland anyway maybe I’m is different

mohacha · 26/04/2020 21:31

I probably should invest more into a fertility treatment yeah. Let's see what will happen this month 🙏

Hi I know this is random but if I was to go to the doctors would my partner be aloud in as most places ur only allowed 1 in I was wondering if doctors are doing the same ? Hope we all get what we deserve soon 🙁🙏🏼 It’s killing me 😔

mohacha · 27/04/2020 08:09

Hi, I've heard that only one person is allowed in unfortunately. Double check of course but I doubt they will let you both in.
And good luck 🤗
