Day 16 and no flashing smiley :(

Hello,
I have taken 100mg clomid days 2-6 and currently on day 16 of my cycle and still a blank circle on clear blue digital test. Cheap ovulation test also negative.

Does this mean I won't ovulate this month and it hasn't worked?

In normal times, I would have a scan at fertility clinic day 14 to see if eggs are growing.. However due to cornovirus restrictions that cannot happen.

I am running out of test sticks and will go buy another pack today... However wondering when to give up and accept I am not going to ovulate? My last cycle was 78 days and induced my provera, so I don't want to keep testing for the next 70+ days :(...

Has anyone been in similar situation with a blank circle day 16 but gone on to get a flashing one?

Any advice much appreciated.

Has the clinic said to continue to take clomid even though you are not being monitored?

My last IVF cycle involved tamoxifen tablets which has a similar effect to clomid and it completely messed my next cycle up and I didn't ovulate until day 18/19 and had a 40 day cycle which is unheard for me

Hi, they didn't say not to take them just that they are not doing the scan unless signs of over stimulation.

No experience of clomid but I have gone from blank circle straight to static smiley before so keep testing!

Depending on your situation perhaps you can keep testing and trying.

FWIW I was never monitored by the NHS on 5 Clomid cycles, I usually had spotting before periods and when it continued for 2 cycles they upped the dose from 50mg to 100mg. I did push for and get a day 21 progesterone blood test, and I paid for some private scans when the dose was increased as they wouldn't do any on the NHS.

Good luck, it might just be that you ovulate a bit later.

You are supposed to ovulate 7-10 days after taking Clomid, so theoretically you should have ovulated by now if you were going to this cycle. As you say you would normally get a scan, but as you can't get one at the moment, in your position I would test for another couple of days, and if still no smiley face, then I wouldn't waste any more money on clearblue strips - those things are expensive! Have you had any other ovulation signs like EWCM or ovulation twinges? Just keep having sex every other day in case you do ovulate later. I think that's all you can do until the clinic reopen.

Thank you for all replies - interesting that different fertility clinics don't offer scans as routine.

I have had some slight twinges and a little creamy CM.. So I was hoping it was happening, but I think that's good advice, will do the tests for a few more days and then stop.
