Low AMH high FSH

Hi, has anyone ever had experience with high FSH 15.7 and low AMH 0.7 . 31 years old and still in shock from these results looking at next steps. Is IVF just a waste? Or is donor egg the only option? Really confused right now.

@Eireblue I am so so sorry to hear that. Thinking of you ❤️

@Eireblue I hope it went ok for you today and you are looked after your partner at home now. I am seeing a doctor tomorrow for another blood test but today my DH and I spoke and said despite quite a few clinics saying my chances of natural conception were extremely low we did it, the egg and the sperm met😊. I experienced a positive test result (which I had not expected on my own at all) and the joy it brought me for a few days to feel pregnant. New chapter for us too and looking forward to next one.

Thank you for your thoughts. It’s reassuring to hear so positive stories. 🙂
If you do t mind me asking. We’re you’re two children IVF, donor or natural conceptions? No worries if you don’t feel comfortable sharing.
My husband and o are now just back in that situation where we have to make a decision about next steps. We thought we were set on Donor egg but that was before I had the knowledge of having conceived naturally and wondering what it would be like to have Ainu version of us both. Not that a donor egg wouldn’t be my baby too it’s just messed with our feelings.

Thank you. It was a horrible expert but I’m so glad I had my husband with me. He was a rock. The poor man hadn’t seen anything like that before not even close. Don’t think he’s ever fully seen me in pain either but he was amazing. I still have some slight bleeding now but I’m already thinking about next steps in our journey.

Hi @Eireblue,
I was 37 with same results basically. Had already had spontaneous miscarriage, followed by ruptured ectopic (lost tube) a year before these results. Was told to try IVF. It worked on first attempt, despite my results. (I’ve got no idea if that was very lucky or not, but clearly those numbers don’t mean you will never have a baby with your own eggs). I was told age was important (I was much older in egg terms than you!). My numbers just indicated that I wouldn’t respond well to the ivf drugs.
Anyway, I found myself pregnant naturally when my baby was 6 months. God knows what the numbers were like then (I dread to think). I was 38.
The fact you have been pregnant is hopeful I would think? You are young. It’s so awful though, because you want to know if it will work out at the time. The uncertainty is so hard.
I really hope you are feeling a little bit brighter after everything you have been through. So tough xx

Thank you for sharing your story 🙂 It’s nice to hear that there are success stories out there. Like you say we will never know the outcomes until we actually try whichever route we do. Now we are just looking for some clinics within the northwest for our next steps be it IVF or donor egg. We genuinely won’t know until we chat to more consultants I think. But having experienced another pregnancy and one so close to getting those results, I think I would like to possibly try IVF first before trying a donor egg even though they recommend three rounds of you got for IVF I think one would be enough for us to say at least we tried then move to donor egg as there’s a great chance of having a baby. Then afterwards if we are lucky enough to have a baby we might revisit IVF or adoption.

Amazing stories and inspiring. I truly believe there’s always chances and you’re younger and with the same result as I, I would say you have stronger chances. Due to my age, 38 going on 39, we will try naturally but if not we have decided on egg donation. Ivf in my case wasn’t encouraged and had I been younger I would have tried a few rounds. I have read 3 makes a baby and there’s some good podcast as well and BFN podcast has a weekly feature on egg donation/podcast from a couple who is going through the decision making process. @ Eireblue I know it was very traumatic but you shouldn’t give up and good to get second opinion. I know Create clinics are very open about accepting women with low amh.

Leala20 · 06/06/2020 21:02

@Freewanderer amazing story really. Thank you for sharing as it gives us hope

Freewanderer · 06/06/2020 22:09

I hope that what happened to me really does illustrate that there is so much we still don’t know about fertility. We don’t know how many women have had the same numbers as me, never had fertility tests, but then had children without any drama (naturally). I was never discouraged from trying IVF. Far from it. I was repeatedly told that I could still get pregnant naturally. I thought at the time that the fertility team were just trying to stop me from falling into a hole of despair. I was pretty defeated in all honesty. Who knows what the future holds, but the point is that it’s not game over if you find yourself in a position like me.xx

Eireblue · 07/06/2020 23:02

I've messaged a fertility clinic that isn't far from us so hopefully they will be in contact soon and we will know more about our options. I've heard there are a lot of waiting lists do to the backlog created by corona shut down so hopefully that won't affect things too much. I think we would like to try IVF first before moving onto donor egg options. We shall see. I will keep you updated.

And honestly thank you ladies. Thank you for sharing your stories and for your support. I really means a lot.

Hi All,
Sorry for posting so much lately but I'd like some opinions.
We had a consultation with a local IVF clinic who told me that multicycle IVF is their recommended option and due to my levels I shouldn't wait if I want to go down the IVF route.
I'm at the end of my miscarriage now no real active bleeding but still not back to normal physically I'd say will most likely be completely finished tomorrow. I've also have yet to take a pregnancy test to see if my levels have gone back to normal but they are already trying to get me in for blood tests this week and get the process started. No emotionally I feel ready and am totally up for this but I'm wondering if this is not too early physically for blood tests ect. So I wait at least a week of no signs from the miscarriage? I'm torn between wanting to get the ball rolling and waiting to make sure I don't have to retake tests ect and have extra tests added to the bill ect.. am I just being paranoid?

Hello all just wondering what clinic everyone used. My AMH in march 2021 was 2.8 with an FSH of 4.7 then dramatically 4 months later AMH was 0.6 and FSH was 27.7. What’s going on :( . I don’t know whether to use argc or crgh or another clinic

ThashG · 29/10/2021 20:10

Just to mention I used an nhs round at TVF where they found no follicles

ThashG · 29/10/2021 20:11

I mean eggs they found no eggs

Summerishere83 · 18/07/2022 10:28

Hi @ThashG
Sorry to hear about your results!
How have things been with you?
Have you read It starts with the egg which gives advice on improving AMH and FSH?
All the best xx

ThashG · 18/07/2022 10:33

@Summerishere83 hi it’s been a while since this post. I have had 4 cycles since and each round seems to be getting better. I’m banking embryos so whilst I don’t got get masses of embryos I now have some stored. I have read ISWTE and everything else you can imagine lol. My clinic are quite good for AMH so I’m keeping my hopes high. :)

Summerishere83 · 18/07/2022 10:43

Hi @ThashG
That's very good to hear! Fingers crossed! Have the embryos been tested genetically? Do you think DHEA helped? May I ask you how old you are?
I've been advised to have eggs collected over 3 cycles but I'm hesitant due to the high cost I'm hoping I can still conceive naturally but I have no idea of course how much time I have..
If you think of something else that's worth reading please do share!! :)
