First month using OPKs - confused

Hi all 😊 just looking for some advice/direction as I’m new to OPKs and I’m confused! Just for some background, we’ve been TTC for 18 months, husband confirmed to have low motility and morphology BUT higher than usual sperm count so they said we still could get pregnant naturally and they wouldn’t be surprised if it did happened. They said that I’m fine. I’m using the easy @ home OPKs and the pre-mom app (with a side of Ovia which has my tracked periods for the 18 month duration). My cycle is anything between 25 days and 30 days but usually falls around 27/28. I had EWCM yesterday but my test strips aren’t showing any surge, I haven’t had anything above 0.19 and they’re getting lower! Latest was 0.07. I don’t know what to think now 😕 is it possible they could go down and then up? I’m not drinking for at least two hours prior to testing. Any insight would be appreciated! I have a screenshot of my results but can’t see where I can upload a pic 🧐

Hi @StaceyWS88 if you're a new user you can't upload pictures for a while.

I have 25 day cycles and usually ovulate around cd10/11 so start testing with opks around cd8. If you're using the cheaper opks (not clearblue) it's best to do them in the afternoon between 2-10pm. I have a fairly short surge so test 2/3 times a day and have managed to catch my positive but didn't in my early days of using opks.

I’m currently on CD13 and testing between 12-6 so I’ll push that back a little and see if anything happens. I’m doing it twice a day at the moment, I think I’ll continue this month and change my times and do them more regularly then next month switch to Clearblue.

My best advise when testing with OPKs would be to wait at least three hours since your last urine and also try not drink anything within that time either. You don't want to dilute it at all.
Your current CD may be too early for a positive if your cycle is a bit later. Mine are between 26-29 days and I usually tend to get a positive on CD15

I also use pre-mom to note mine but have been wary that they base the levels off how well they can see the photo and how it automatically picks up

On CD 14 and I’ve got a 0.43, so relieved to see it climbing! Will test again at 5 and see how that one looks. Also been sure to take the pics in different lights and use both manual and automatic. Think my hubby’s going to get some clearblue for my when he finishes work ☺️

Struggling with the not drinking because I’m big on hydration! How little do you drink?

I find not drinking hard also and always end up forgetting but when I have managed I have always gotten the darkest lines that way so I try make an effort. If I'm honest it's only once I will make the effort to not drink for that three hours, especially when I think I'm ovulating.

Hi guys, got a 1.17 at 9:20 (I know you aren’t supposed to do it in the morning..think I’m addicted to testing!) and has dropped since, is today the day to try or do I wait til tomorrow?! Ooh it’s letting me post attachments ☺️

I'd deffo say try today, and also give tomorrow a go too if you can! If you can do three days in a row from today even better!
