Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing ok!

I'm 38 with 'unexplained' infertility. I've done 4 rounds of IVF, two of which worked at first, but have both ended in Missed Miscarriage at 6.5 and 5 weeks.

I'm starting to panic that it is never going to work for me, so I was really hoping to hear some inspiring stories of success!

Thank you! x

I got preg at just 43 With own eggs from a previous cycle and frozen - was 42 when did cycle 3 and froze 6

We went abroad and imo better technology and higher drugs and why had some to freeze unlike cycle 1&2 in UK

Took 5 attempts and was told I had good eggs for an old bird during amh and fsh testing

My friend got preg naturally at 43 after think 3 Mc between her last preg and has now a Nearly 2 and 11 and 15

So yes you could get preg

But stats also show that success drops late 30’s /early 40’s

Twins here from our second cycle which was done in the UK at 40. Also had two frosties from that cycle and was due to have one transferred next month which is obviously now on hold.

Hi, I’m 40 and currently 25 weeks pregnant from a second cycle (both ICSI). First short protocol cycle resulted in an bfn, was changed to a long protocol (I think!) on the second, with deregulation, which resulted in 4 x 5 days blastos, of which 2 were top quality - 1 frozen and the second was popped back in.

I turned 40 the month before treatment cycle started, used own eggs, AMH of 5 so I wasn’t a great responder to stims but, without sounding too contrite, it really does just take one good ‘un.

I’m sorry @Ivfstory, two missed miscarriages is so unfair.

I was 40 in December, just done a fresh round of ivf overseas and am nearly 8 weeks pg. My amh was poor (6.5) and my fsh high (11.8) and they said my age put the success rate around 10%. I only got 5 eggs but all made it to 5 day blastocysts so I now have 4 in the freezer (which I def wasn’t expecting). So it can happen. Don’t lose heart.

Thanks so much to everyone for taking the time to give me hope!

@Blondeshavemorefun that's great news that IVF worked for you, and thanks for the advice on doing it abroad, I wasn't aware of the better tech and high dosages! Thank you!

@CritterTamer congrats on your twins, I love the thought of having twins. I'm really sorry your next cycle is postponed, but hopefully all the craziness calms down soon!

@mrschico massive congrats on your pregnancy! You are absolutely right, it really just takes one! So I need to focus on that, thanks for your message, and wishing you a smooth pregnancy!

@Badgerismyname congrats on your pregnancy! And great that you got it in just before Corona closed all the clinics! Thanks for the positive message, wishing you lots of luck for your pregnancy.

Thanks again everyone for taking the time out to give me some positive, lovely examples! xx

It’s also a lot cheaper as well even with flights and a nights accomdation
