DH and I have our next appointment at the fertility clinic next month. This is our first time through the IVF process, which is further complicated by the fact we're having IVF + PGD because of my genetic neurological condition, rather than for fertility issues. We've had our meeting with the genetic counsellor, we've had the fertility tests (DH is the Mary Poppins of sperm - practically perfect in every way! - I have one 'excellent' ovary and one dud one), we've had the meeting where the process itself is explained and they tell you everything that might go wrong and you leave feeling like there's no hope whatsoever, I've had blood tests and three months of super-strength vitamin D, and I've had a meeting at the hospital with the consultant who confirmed that she's happy for us to go ahead with IVF and went through the plan for caring for me through pregnancy and birth with my condition (daily injections and 3-4 weekly check-ups followed by induction).
Now we've been told we will have an appointment in April, date TBC... what's next?
I'm guessing it's too much to hope this will actually be an appointment to get things started? I'm struggling to concentrate on work for wondering what is coming up. I realise no one here knows our medical circumstances, so no one can tell me exactly what will happen, but an indication of what is likely to be coming up soon would really help me out! Can anyone who has been through the process tell me what is likely to be the next step in April?
Thank you.
