Coronovirus - should I cancel my ivf abroad?

As the title says - should I cancel my ivf abroad? Was planning to go to Cyprus in April. What would you do?

Think have moved on from initial upset and disappointment- though still gutted - just feeling sorry for those due to have flown out there this weekend or who were there and the treatment has had to be curtailed 😞

I've a grands worth of meds in my fridge 😢

It just pushes the time further and further away.

Same here I was supposed to start meds on 7th April for a frozen embryo transfer in Cyprus (Due to fly out approx 24th April) That’s HIGHLY unlikely now.
My clinic say the Country will be reviewing things on 1st April, but it’s likely the travel ban will be extended.

Even if Cyprus would let us in, it’s things like scans and bloods here.... if we are on lockdown we have no chance

I can’t bloody believe it you know!! 5 years i’ve been on this journey (although i’ve been incredibly lucky to have a baby during that time, after 4 years!) But i’m just desperate to complete my family

I also have a DC, lucky to conceive him on a my first FET but have spent 3.5 years TTC his sibling with 4 failed cycles. 😓

@twinkledag Have you cycled with TM before?? Is this a full cycle of with them or a FET? Please feel free to PM me if you’d rather not say over the thread.

First cycle with Team miracle. Doing a tandem cycle with a donor.

@twinkledag I feel so awful saying this at such an uncertain time anyway, but a lot of the Cyprus girls on our secret FB group went with TM originally and were left incredibly disappointed (own eggs and donor) It’s common knowledge on the group to avoid them like the plague.

The majority tend to go to the clinic i’m at (British Cyprus IVF) or Team Z (Otherwise known as Kolan) or Crown. The ones that have full PGS testing on the embryos fare best. The stats are great for those 3 clinics, there’s a lot of success on the group with those clinics, usually first or second time (Praying I will fall in to that category!) My friend had two rounds here at home with no success, and has just given birth to beautiful twin boys from her first trip to Crown.

I don’t want to alarm you, and you may well be very happy with them, but I had to let you know. We’ve had so many women waste so much time, money and emotion on TM.

It's a global pandemic. I know this isn't what you want to hear but I would postpone for now. Any travel will put you at risk.

@twinkledag Can I PM you about it? I’d need to double check and clarify with the ladies I know who had cycled there what their particular issues were. I do know though, non of them had success there And feel like they burned money. They’ve all had their happy ending now though, just not at that clinic.

Glad to see a lot of you ladies went to Cyprus. I would believe that the link I posted earlier was real, but things progress really quickly, Cyprus had their first case soon after that. My clinic, Dunya IVF, is postponing most European patients for a month or so. Cyprus has banned travel from 22 countries until April 1. I think Australia is still good but then you have to check your clinic first to be sure.

Pissed off today. No chance of a 2020 baby now. The gap between my son and a possible sibling gets further and further away. I get older. And then I'm hearing about a baby boom in a few months due to people having to stay in. Well not for me as infertility has fucking ruined my sex life. Fucking shit.

Hi ladies, this is my first ever post. I live in Cyprus and having ivf at Crown in famagusta. My treatment was also postponed, as a resident of Cyprus I can't even cross the boarder to continue. Turkish side are reviewing this on 1st April but cyprus have a flight ban for 2weeks starting yesterday and then till 30th of April only allowing citizens and residents. It's crap all this. Feel so sorry for everyone
