HSG while spotting

Hi

Really hoping for some experiences. I have a hsg appointment on Thursday but I'm only due to end my period on Wednesday and normally have light spotting the day after. I really don't want to cancel as I had to last time and had to wait over two months for this appointment. Has anyone had this done while they had spotting, or have they been turned away?

I'd phone the fertility nurses but I don't want to bother them with a small question, if I have to phone and cancel I will but it's super frustrating as I can't have my next appointment until this is done. My last appointment was in June so it's been around 8 months since my last visit with them!

@twopinkies I was told by the nurse HSG should be done between day 8 to day 21 of the cycle. I'm having mine this Thursday which is day 8 of my cycle. I mentioned about the possibility of spotting, they assured me it is okay.

Hey @Limeflower2 how did you get on? I had mine done this morning and tubes are open thankfully. Just wondering how you feel now? My cramps are really bad, it's like trapped gas , hoping it goes away by tomorrow ! Hope yours went well also!

Hi @twopinkies Thanks for asking. Glad your her idnokay. I took 2 painkillers before hsg. I was hoping it will be fine, the nurse offered to hold my hand but I refused. Next minute I was squeezing her hand so hard with the cramping pain. The dye only last about 30 secs but the pain was so bad. Luckily my tubes are opened. 😊 I felt quite light headed afterward, I just went home and rest.
I had some spotting until this afternoon. Hopefully it has stopped.

Just wondered if you both ovulated ok after your HSG? I had mine last week and I'm past my normal O date but still not O, wondering if the stress of HSG has delayed it?
