Has anyone used this clinic and has any experience of them?

With Dr F?

twinkledag · 29/01/2020 22:25

Yes @AliceAbsolum

I went after 1x NHS cycle, 1x Reprofit cycle. I did a tandem, so experience of both.
Dr F is fantastic, really good clinic, very efficient, you feel like you are in good hands. However sometimes the staffs English isn't great so you just have to trust them and do what they say.
Drug regime after EC is brutal - Aspirin, antibiotics, 2x progesterone, clexane, presnidone, as well as the usual ones - you name it you get it.

No one in 4 years of TTC has ever got me pregnant, however she did, we have 4x donor frosties and will go back at some point. I'd recommend it, just don't try to take a hire car from one side of the border to another! FYI It is outside of the EU, it does look like Turkey, iykwim.

Thanks for the reply Alice.

Good luck with the FET 🤞

I'm doing tandem too! How did your OE do at Miracle?

@AliceAbsolum just wondering where you stayed when I'm Cyprus?

OP posts:
AliceAbsolum · 02/03/2020 07:33

Acapulco. Nice big resort.

twinkledag · 02/03/2020 09:48

Thank you Alice for replying. 😃

They do pick up and drop offs. But remember you cannot take a hire car over the border from the Greek side (well you can but it'll be uninsured).

MrsC2018 · 02/03/2020 10:26

@AliceAbsolum and @twinkledag I've nearly signed on the dotted line for a UK clinic but this post has caught my eye 😱

@AliceAbsolum how long were you in Cyprus for treatment? I might email them for prices, their results are soooooo tempting - but are they real???

AliceAbsolum · 02/03/2020 10:49

@MrsC2018 After 4 years and 3 rounds, I'd 100% consider miracle. Dr F is amazing and they do allll the add ons. Clexane, antibiotics, aspirin, muscle relaxant after transfer, injections of progesterone etc. Really worth it if you have implantation failure.

AliceAbsolum · 02/03/2020 10:51

10 days for tandem.

MrsC2018 · 02/03/2020 10:58

@AliceAbsolum yeah, I've had 3 rounds, 5 transfers and absolutely nothing. I'll email and see what prices they can offer 🙈

What hotel package did you go for? Urgh I can't believe I'm looking at this! It feels really scary looking at clinics abroad, what made you pick this one?

(Thanks so much)

Celledora · 02/03/2020 11:37

It's good to hear a positive review of a clinic, I've been looking for one too @MrsC2018 but not sure where to start! What made you go with this one @AliceAbsolum?

twinkledag · 02/03/2020 16:40

I've just cancelled my cycle due to travelling abroad and coronovirus - am I mad? Was due to go in April.

OP posts:
MrsC2018 · 02/03/2020 17:11

Do you have any underlying health problems? I'm very laid back about these things, but front line nursing staff so have my flu vaccine every year. My understanding is that if you would survive flu, then you'll survive Coronavirus. So I think you're a little mad, if you don't mind me saying.

twinkledag · 02/03/2020 17:15

I would be travelling with my 5 year old son which is why I'm hesitant.

OP posts:
MrsC2018 · 02/03/2020 17:15

Now that I've thought more, I would think about cancelling only cause of the risk of being quarantined in Cyprus and having to miss work and leave my son and dog for longer at home. That would bother me. But I'd wait and see closer to the time if any cases happen there and what they do as a response. What is it you're worried about @twinkledag?

MrsC2018 · 02/03/2020 17:22

It's a tough call, but I would still go personally unless Cyprus develop a big problem over the next month. Worth noting that I probably wouldn't go to Italy, South Korea, Japan or China atm. If you delay, would you have IVF elsewhere or rebook for over the summer?

twinkledag · 02/03/2020 18:58

Hi @MrsC2018. I am doing a tandem cycle so me and the donor have to starts meds tomorrow to sync our cycles for us to be able to start in April. So that's why I've had to make the decision today.

I guess I'm worried about the risks of travelling with DS, being stranded abroad etc etc. We don't know where new cases are going to be confirmed.

OP posts:
twinkledag · 02/03/2020 19:02

I would have to delay my cycle and do it later in the year.

OP posts:
AliceAbsolum · 02/03/2020 19:04

I went with it for tandem cycle reasons. However I am SO glad I did. The post-transfer regime got me pregnant (imo). They are a really thorough and efficient. We have 2x2 frozen and will be going back soon.

IVF in the UK is a rip-off, going abroad was the best thing I ever did.

MrsC2018 · 02/03/2020 19:29

Ahh that's tough @twinkledag I see why you made the decision, it's so hard to know what to do for the best but I'm sure you did the right thing than risk this cycle

twinkledag · 02/03/2020 19:34

I'm gutted as this worked perfectly with DS's school easter holidays and milder weather in Cyprus.

OP posts:
MrsC2018 · 02/03/2020 19:39

Maybe go again for the October half term, you'll have milder weather again. What a horrible decision to have needed to make today
