IVF Abroad - New Life or Reprofit

Hi All -

I am aware there is lots of threads about IVF abroad, but with so many im hoping for some replies direct on here to make it easier for me to read.

My OH has had a vasectomy and then reversal that hasn't worked (ie blcoked) so our only option is IVF / ICSI which isn't able to be funded on NHS, with TESE.

From forums on here and elsewhere i have narrowed it down to Reprofit in Czech and New Life in Greece.

Anyone with experience of these would be great, especially with TESE. It's so hard trying to decide

@SHolt87 overall experience was good & obviously the price difference is why we choose to go to Czech. But need to work out of overall it did work out much cheaper with flights, accommodation & spending money whilst out there for a week. Language barrier was mostly okay few times I feel like the co ordinator didn't understand me or me them & there was a lot of back and forth emails as you never meet anyone in person until the egg collection. Hi OP @SHolt87 - I know this post is based on going abroad, however I am about to start a cycle with ABC IVF, the one based in Manchester but they have a few different locations. I have to say my experience so far has been brill, if you meet the criteria which I think you will judging by your original post, then I would highly recommend. Me and my partner had a round on the NHS, and now we have to fund it ourselves, we spent a long time researching different ones and ABC kept coming out on top for us. It's only 2.5k for a round, and an extra 1k if you end up having enough eggs to freeze after. The treatment is very personalised and theres no extra cost if I need higher medication or need to be on the injections longer than planned due to numerous problems I have. We looked at going abroad too but I'm a massive worrier and overthinker, and I felt more comfortable being in the UK and close to home. Theres nothing wrong with going abroad, that would have been our next option if ABC didn't accept us, the fact it was in the UK sold it more for me xx

This is really interesting- as most clinics here do not offer medication and everything included in the cost of around £2.5/£3.5K- would you mine telling me is that all inclusive ie scans etc? Can PM if prefer

@SHolt87 - I know! Honestly we were just as shocked, we honestly thought it was all too good to be true. Yep it's literally all inclusive, the only extra we've had to pay for is the initial consultation which was just over £100 if I remember correctly. I would highly recommend having a look through their site www.abcivf.co.uk/treatments/eligibility-for-treatment - this link should take you to their criteria page. Honestly everything on there is fully legit, no exaggeration at all! There is plenty of people on here who have had IVF via ABC who have great feedback too. I would highly recommend having a consultation with your closest one so you can see for yourself, especially if you're a little unsure about going abroad. Just to prove that I met the criteria, I paid privately at Nuffield health for a blood test to test my AMH levels as thats one of the criterias, to have good egg reserve. I made sure I had that test before I went to the consultation so I knew if I would be accepted or not on the day. The test only cost around £50 if I remember rightly! Honestly keep the questions coming I dont mind at all xx

Thanks for all the advice, I've actually just watched a zoom call they were hosting tonight by chance! The abroad rates are higher for pregnancies, but don't give us the rates for live births so hard to tell. Did you ever get a cost for surgical sperm retrieval? As we need that plus the ICSI which is already £3600. Would be good to know that, so I can see how much more expensive,

We did reprofit - worked first time twice. Really easy process, pretty cheap, very professional. Clinic is clean. Seem to have high standards. I would recommend every time.

Hi I've just come back from ICSI cycle at New Life and couldn't praise them enough.

They were very professional throughout and I had a dedicated member of team who corresponded with my via email. They are fluent in English, and some of them have also worked in the uk so are fully aware of standards of practice here.
Their instructions were clear and always responded to my emails promptly. Despite being a busy clinic, they provided a really personalised and caring service and paid attention to detail.
The city of Thessaloniki is vibrant and fun, great food and lots to do.

It's not as cheap as Reprofit but it's worth it for their level of care.

Just for context, I've previously had a cycle with the nhs (funded) and then another with Care Northampton (extortionate amount of money with very poor level of "care").

New Life. I didn't like Reprofit at all. Dr scanned me, didn't even bother washing his hands.

Thanks for the messages everyone, I'm still no closer to what to do. Cost is such a big factor but obviously, the success rate and level is care is the most important.
@AliceAbsolum interesting what you say about Reprofit - did you travel to both countries before deciding? Or is it just you didn't recommend Reprofit?

@Twickerhun so happy to hear it worked for you! OUt of interest, did you arrange it all yourself, or use the company "Your IVF Journey"? Ive heard good things about them as well who help you book everything, but eualyl heard it is just as easy to do your own

I did it myself. It was easy, there were times when I felt anxious or nervous but I just emailed my contact and once phoned the emergency doctor and it was ok. There is lots of info available on the fertility friends forum on advice on hotels, flights, buying drugs etc.
