Hi guys I'm 33 years old and hoping to start my first round of IVF this year (never been pregnant before)
Is there anyone else about to start ivf for the first time? Or anyone over 30 that are trying to start a family or having fertility treatments? Would love to hear from some people in the same boat. Xx

Hi @BaileyBadger4

I think from the comments I’ve read on here, plus people’s usernames (seeing a lot of xxx82, xxx85) that most people here are over 30. I guess this is something that you mostly end up doing after years of TTC naturally so it tends to be slightly older women (I’m 37 and think if it works the NHS classify me as a geriatric mother 😂) So you should find plenty of people to share stories with on here. Are you waiting to get to the top of the list? X

Period is due on the 4th of feb so I have to phone the ACU then and try and get booked in. If successful I will get a prostap injection 21 days later to start down regulating. What stage are you at?

So I was almost there girls! 😭 Was due to have egg collection last Wednesday but my cycle was unfortunately cancelled last minute on Monday due to over stimulation 😢 I'm pretty devastated as we've been trying to get to this stage for 4 years now (had a lot of weight to lose before I was eligible for nhs treatment)
I'm now just waiting for my body to return to normal and AF to return so that we can think about trying again and hopefully get to egg collection stage this time! 🤞🤞 thanks for your replies ladies ❤️

That's a shame that you never got to egg collection!!hopefully you are able to start again soon. does that count as one of your cycles or not as it was cancelled?is this your first cycle?how many goes do you get in your area?sorry for the million questions lol x

BaileyBadger4 · 26/01/2020 13:13

@Mrsmch123 we only get one free round on the nhs in my area and luckily my free round is still intact as we didn't get to EC stage 🙏 The Dr at my clinic has suggested I wait between 3 and 6 months before starting another cycle. Seems an age away considering we've been working towards this for 4 years! 😭 But I'm so very thankful it's not the end of the road for us. Just in limbo now waiting on AF to arrive so can work out when we can hopefully try again! Xx
