Symptoms in TWW

jemimafuddleduck · 20/01/2020 22:05

Hi all

I'm currently in my TWW of my 5th round of IVF. All BFNs so far. This is our last shot. I'm 4dp5dt for 2 x top quality embryos. I feel totally normal - no symptoms at all, not even a bit of cramping.

Just looking for a bit of reassurance really - I know everyone is different but did anyone have no symptoms post transfer and go on to have a BFP? What day did you test?

Thanks in advance...

I had zero symptoms after a 5 day transfer. I was so convinced that it hadn't worked that we had made lots of plans to move on from IVF. I didn't feel any different and was googling the same question as you are asking about symptoms! I waited to test for the whole 2 weeks. Good luck - keeping my fingers crossed for you!! Smile

Thanks for your quick response!
Yes we are making plans too but there's such a finality to this one. We've basically been told by our clinic it's unlikely to work this time so trying not to get my hopes up and to be realistic, but at the same time I do have hope?!

Im testing on Saturday- 9dp5dt. OTD is Sunday but I'm sure a positive would show up one day before and if it's another BFN I'm going on a night out!!

Same here. Nothing. Nothing at all at this point. Possibly had a tiny bit of breasts feeling slightly fuller at 6dp one 5dt and the same at 9dp one 5dt, but absolutely nothing else.

I waited for blood test 8dp5dt on the first one above. On the second of the above had blood test 9dp5dt, but the result wasn’t going to come back until the next day and I wanted to be put out of my misery so did a urine test (9dp5dt) which was positive.

As well as the above have had 7 unsuccessful transfers in my time dealing with this shit and I can honestly say there has been very little difference in symptoms between the 2 with a positive result and the 7 negative ones.

I have driven myself mad during the 2WW in the past googling symptoms as EVERYONE else with a positive result seemed to have some kind of symptom, but it is definitely possible to get a positive result with either no or very minimal symptoms.

Good luck. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

@EarlGreyT thanks so much. Like you say, everyone seems to have symptoms and I have absolutely nothing!!

I had DET and had absolutely no symptoms, nothing. I'm 13w tomorrow, everyone is different, good luck.

I also had no noticeable symptoms apart from a small amount of cramping for a day or so after transfer, but I've always had that when a catheter is put up there, so didn't read anything into it. I waited until OTD to do a home urine test (12dp5dt) and was really surprised to have a positive.

Good luck OP, everyone is different and you can get a BFP without symptoms. Fingers crossed and hope the 2ww isn't too hard on you.

jemimafuddleduck · 21/01/2020 10:51

Thank you both. This is giving me some hope!!

Hope you’re holding up ok. I am thinking of you.

I really know the horrible sinking feeling where seemingly everyone who has a positive test has symptoms when you have nothing and are hoping to get some kind of positive sign. I was an expert in looking for cramps/a pulling sensation/implantation bleeding and the other weird shit like headaches/metallic taste/dizziness,/thirst, a funny taste/strange feeling in ears. The whole thing is a crap form of mental torture, it really is.

jemimafuddleduck · 21/01/2020 22:34

Thanks @EarlGreyT
It really is so tough. I'm kinda dreading Saturday- this is last chance saloon so it's feeling very final and big.
I just can't imagine never being pregnant or carrying and giving birth to my own child but I feel like I'm facing that reality now.

@jemimafuddleduck I had no symptoms at all in 2WW, in fact no symptoms until something like week 9/10. It was a real mixed bag with the ladies I was in 2WW with- there was a big group, something like 25 people on one of the other forums. There seemed to be no correlation whatsoever between symptoms and lack of and who got a BFP or BFN! Good luck xxxx

Hi, forgot to say I tested on day 11, 5dt, and I only got a very, very faint line, so glad I didn’t test early as would be panicking if there was nothing ..my private clinic didn’t offer a blood test..and I remember consultant asking during my 6w5d scan if I had any symptoms, cramping etc and I said absolutely nothing..and she said ‘good’..no symptoms can be a good thing..hope all goes well for you x

jemimafuddleduck · 22/01/2020 08:02

Thanks @fool11 - interesting to hear you had such a pale line on 11dpt! Saturday is 9dpt and I've got a big night out planned if it's negative...! Wondering whether I'm doing the wrong thing 😞

OP posts:
fool11 · 22/01/2020 08:29

Yes it was a very faint line, I did a clear blue digital with weeks indicator at the same time just to confirm I’m not imagining it..which said pregnant 1-2w...so felt better, I tested a week later again and it was much stronger and digital said 3-4w..I didn’t have a blood test so felt re-assured hcg levels rising and it’s moving right direction. I also had a double emb. transfer, preg with one.

@jemimafuddleduck
How did you get on??? Did you decide to test today? X

jemimafuddleduck · 25/01/2020 13:24

BFN. Devastated.

@jemimafuddleduck
I'm so sorry it hasn't worked for you - is this definitely the last one for you? 💐 x

EarlGreyT · 25/01/2020 14:54

I know there is nothing I (or anyone else) can say to make you feel any better @jemimafuddleduck, but I’ve seen your update and didn’t want to leave it unacknowledged so just wanted to say how very sorry I am to hear it has been unsuccessful. I’m gutted for you.

fool11 · 25/01/2020 15:53

Really sorry to hear your news @jemimafuddleduck. What day is it for u? I tested on d11 and had a very faint line, could barely see it..

user1500241218 · 25/01/2020 19:03

I am so so sorry that you have got a negative. I know how hard it is and how much you want it to work! Hope that things work out for you in the future. Sending lots of good thoughts to you x

mincedpea · 29/01/2020 10:33

Really sorry to hear about the test @jemimafuddleduck, it's so hard every time and there's really nothing that makes it feel any better. I'm so sorry it wasn't successful this time around and I hope you're feeling ok. Take care of yourself.
