Questions about my first fertility appointment

Hello, my self and my partner have been ttc for 3 and a half years ... I have recently been refurred for help by my doctor.
Could someone please tell me what I am to expect ? I have PCOS
Also I have had stroke in the past when I was very young . But none since. Would I be offered Clomid ? Or is this not comparable for me ?
I’m currently taking metformin.

Our first Fertility appointment (I have PCOS), they went through our history, blood test results, pelvic scan, sperm analysis and went straight to offering 3 rounds of clomid with follicle scanning. Some fertility clinics like to rescan and do bloods but that wasn't the case for us.

We tried for 1 year before going to the GP. Testing took a couple of months and then we had our first appointment about 3 month that. We were under the Fertility clinic for 18 months. I conceived on my 10th round of clomid. I wasn't given metformin (which I should have been) until after the first 3 cycles had no effect as I am insulin resistant.

Sorry 3 months after the GP appointment that should say.

I imagine that due to your past history of a stroke will affect what medication they try you on. PCOS means high risk for OHSS which puts a strain on the heart and therefore they may feel clomid is too risky or it may be very low dose

Thanks for your reply , yes ! I was thinking the same , Am currently taking metformin but don’t think I’ll be offered Clomid due to having a stroke .
Will it be straight for IVF do you think ? 🙄 ( if you know ) X

Hello, I am at the very beginning of the process, after ttc for 3 years. My partner has very low sperm, so ICSI - NHS funded.
We had first appointment at Guy's hospital one month ago and never heard since - no idea what is going to be the next step. After my chase I got an email saying I am on waiting list and I will be contacted soon. I know it depends etc but could anyone give me a rough idea of what to except and how long is the waiting list.. just to for my peace of mind ! Doc said first round should be within 3 months, but it's been a month already and no progress whatsoever.
I am so impatient to get started :(

It's possible it will be straight to IVF however likely to be very low dose stimming medication to ensure no hyper stimulation so number of eggs collected may be lower than normal

Sometimes you are also scanned to look at egg count.

Hiya had two cycles of IVF last year - 3 transfers - 2 didn't work and the one ended in a ruptured ectopic and I lost my remaining tube

I'm now doing a final 3 cycle package before giving up permanently - basically 3 egg collections in 3 months and they transfer on the 3rd one

First appointment will just be going through medical histories for both you and partner - reviewing test results you've already one and then probably setting you up to have a load more.
My questions were around timescales but given your medical history I'd ask how that is likely to impact your treatment?
