Help - what is day 1 of cycle?!

Is it the first day of brown discharge accompanied by sore boobs or the first day of full on red blood and flow??!

It’s relevant as I’m meant to start a 2nd IVF cycle (the first having failed) on day 2 of my cycle, and depending on the above this could vary 2-3 days.

Usually if you see red blood before lunchtime

Our clinic classified day 1 as first day of full
flow starting before midday. If full flow starts after midday then day 1 will be the following day.

Never heard the midday thing before but helpful, thank you. I often feel my cycle creeps on over several days. I just don’t want to end up starting too late

Our IVF clinic said the first day you wake up with bleeding is day 1. Probably best to check with your clinic, although they will be testing your bloods and scanning you regularly anyway.
