HSG sex afterwards

I'm after some advice. Having my HSG done Thursday. How long did people leave it afterwards to have sex ? My letter says 3-4 days although then there is a note about using contraception until the next cycle. What did other people do ? As didn't really want to "waste" the rest of this month?

You do want to wait a few days as you’ve had an invasive procedure with a risk of infection. Let your equipment get back to normal while you’re taking the antibiotics and then you’re probably fine 👍

Antibiotics ?? I didn't know I'd have antibiotics to take after ? Ok that's xz

I've had the procedure done twice and never had antibiotics so don't worry - seems some countries/areas offer it but most don't

I had mine last week, nobody mentioned infection risk or antibiotics to me though there's quite a lot of chat about it online like it's the norm. I also wasn't advised about taking preemptive pain relief beforehand and I wish I had. I found it really quite painful and not the 'mild cramping' I'd been advised of.

I felt 'crampy' for about 12 hours after but I'd have been fine to have sex after that if I'd wanted... the nurses on the ward advised that it can often 'clear out your tubes' and help you get pregnant. I'm not holding my breath!!

Ah fingers crossed for you. That's what I'm hoping too. I hear you're quite fertile afterwards once they're cleared so I'm hoping to be able to "crack on"

Had mine Thursday 👍🏼 they've advised to try not to conceive this cycle due to the radiation but seems a shame to not try when it supposedly makes you more fertile after it 🤦🏼‍♀️
