I wasn’t sure where else to post this for support or advice or anything g really. I’m starting to inject Fyremadel tomorrow (second day of period) I’ve read the i instructions but I’m still terrified of doing so.
Can anyone whose done this send reassurance?
I’m not sure what I expect really.
Thank you.

I start my 3rd cycle tomorrow with injections - honestly the fear of it is worse than the injection itself - I tend to stick with doing it on the right side of my stomach as that's comfier - some needles are better than others though - I find Bemfola and cetrotide ok but inhixia/clexane are awful and admittedly more painful x

It will be fine. The first is grim (took me 45 mins of sitting on the bathroom floor in tears before I actually managed to stick the needle in Grin) but they genuinely don't hurt much - it's more the thought of it than anything. Sometimes you don't feel it at all, it depends on what you're injecting and the spot you choose. I find below my belly button to be more sensitive but to the sides ok. If you're worried about the sting try icing the area first. Stick the needle in really quickly and you probably won't even feel it. I also press the plunger SUPER slowly. I find the quicker the med goes in the more it stings. If it starts to sting just stop pressing it for a minute until it fades then start again. And don't rub the injection site after doing it because it's more likely to bruise. Good luck.

I’ve used my both legs, thighs for Fyremadel as less sensitive than my belly and it was ok-ish.

The more you delay the worse it is, because its totally fine
Shove it in!

Definitely the anticipation.
Nurse said to aim for side of the belly button and alternate sides.

Sure I’ll be an expert by the end 🤞🏻

Done. 😁
Wasn’t bad sticking it in. Feels odd and stingy for about 40mind after but done. Wooo.

Well done! I found the stinging lessened over the days too. It'll be even easier tomorrow 😊

Hi OP
I found Fyremadel (and more so Lubion) stung a after injecting and one of the nurses at my clinic mentioned a hot compress may help. I now just hold some hot kitchen roll against the injection site for a minute before and afterwards and find that helps.

HotPotatoBlessMySoul · 02/01/2020 15:18

Thank you Grey I’ll give that a go tomorrow.
