Hi,

I just got my amh results back and got 51.8 pmol/L I'm 31 is this ok? Doctor said normal over the phone, but I've read so much I'm confused.

There are so many different measurements out there, and also read one way can mean PCOS and one can mean low egg count. Anyone had a similar result and had a good explanation?

It’s definatly not low! Anything over 48 is a high amh reading and can be an indicator of PCOS x

@Millie20202 thanks for the response , I'm hoping I don't have pcos 😢 my bloods were fine and also they said everything was fine on my internal pelvic ultrasound, should this have picked it up?

Think it can just be an indicator but not definatly saying you have PCOS. I’m not too sure it’s best to ask your doctor, sorry I didn’t mean to add to any more stress, if it isn’t Pcos you definatly have a great ovarian reserve! X

A diagnosis of PCOS can only be made if you satisfy a number of markers. Bloods alone but a normal scan won't necessarily indicate PCOS. You'd need to satisfy two out of three markers. Bloods/ and Scan and physical symptoms (absent periods/excess hair/acne/make pattern hair loss)

Just found out today mine is 16 , but to be honest I don't know what that means.

Kwhatnow1 · 18/12/2019 21:07

How old are you duckling3?

Thanks for the responses everyone. I have done some research and there are different types of results, which I think causes confusion. Some are ng/ml which normal is 1-4 and then some are pmol/L which mine was. And although at the higher end I think 50 is still ok for my age at 31. I've attached the chart.
