Hey I have PCOS and I have giving three months supply of clomid. I dont have regular periods so I have been given provera to kick start my period first.
First round of 7 days of 10mg of provera I had a bleed 3 days later and started clomid on days 2-6. Had 21 day bloods and was told no ovulation and 0.7 progesterone level.
I then had to take another round of provera it has now been 6 days and all I have had is brown spotting. No actual bleed yet. This means I cant start clomid. As well as the brown spotting I have a dull ache on my right hand side that seems to be constant. I have done pregnancy tests and they are all negative. Worried there is something else wrong. Any one had anything similar?

Hi @Sazzysarah13,

Medically speaking, you don't actually need to have a period to begin Clomid. If people don't ovulate on it (not sure if I did) and therefore don't have a period, they can begin taking the next round 30 days later. It doesn't affect whether or not it works.

However, don't go against any specific advice you've been given by your doctor or consultant. I would definitely get in touch with them on Monday to find out what they want you to do!

There is also a very active Clomid thread on here, where you may be able to get more support.

Good luck! X

@Sazzysarah13 I had the exact same thing this month!! PCOS, clomid and provera and each time I've taken provera before, exactly 5 days later I've had a full flow bleed. This month I took my provera and 3 days later I started to spot and I just really lightly spotted for 4 days and then finally came on fully! Really strange how it works differently each month. Good luck with clomid, i took my last tablet of my first round yesterday so keeping everything crossed that it works 🤞🏻🤞🏻
