TTC Bloods Results

So I have a bit of a complicated pregnancy/birth history - who doesn't!! But have been lucky enough to have had 2 pregnancies conceived naturally followed by 2 chemical pregnancies. Following a break, and given my age (42) my gynaecologist has put me on 50mg Clomid (days 2-6) and Cyclogest 200 mg from ovulation. I had day 21 bloods done this week and have just gotten the results. Progesterone is showing as 84 but TSH is >3 so I'm being put on 25ug of Eltroxin to bring that down and having TSH rechecked in 6 weeks. She said she's happy with the progesterone level but I'm wondering how much of an effect the Clomid/Cyclogest is having on it. From what I've read a level of over 30 is good without meds. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks!

It simply means you ovulated. That's the only thing that causes a rise in progesterone. It could have been a double ovulation (two follicles) with a number that high. Clomid does that sometimes.

By the by, clomid simply helps you ovulate if you don't already. I didn't need it but was put on it anyway (I already ovulated naturally, albeit irregularly) and it caused me to grow a massive fibroid. It's powerful stuff.

Sorry missed the cyclogest part somehow!!!

Your gynae is aware that it's not been shown to help achieve pregnancy in any but ivf pregnancies, no? And yes, this could increase your results but I'm not sure anyone can say definitely by how much.
