AMH results, need help understanding.

Hello all.

Looking for a bit of guidance if poss?

Posted a couple of weeks ago about needing AMH levels tested before we proceed with funding our own IVF round, I've got my results back via email and I'm struggling to make sense of what it means!

I have attached the image of the results, I've googled it but I'm obviously just being an idiot!

If I am reading this right... your result is 91.88 which is really high Amh? X

So they think you could be a high responder... what is your age?

I'm 26, I only have one ovary and when we had IVF previously, we only retrieved 4 eggs and only had one survived after the blasotcyst stage, so I would have assumed my reserve would have been low? xx

I've just realised that my results are higher than average, I was just very confused as we've had so many set backs for the past couple of years, so I really didn't expect it to be so high! Feel like an idiot now as it's very obvious now that I know, just a bit shocked really xx

Do you know if your remaining ovary looks polycystic on USS? AMH this high is usually a sign of PCO and it is therefor difficult to judge egg quality based on the number. However women with PCO are often hyper-responsive to IVF drugs so it doesn't quite fit that you only got 4 eggs last time... perhaps one for your fertility doctor? Good luck x

@Dot457 Where did you get this chart from? Your report? I was told by a previous clinic that I had a low AMH for my age. It's on the low end of the scale at 2.9, but I'm 35 so looking at this scale, it's still in an acceptable range, or am I reading this wrong? I've been living my life for the last year (I'm almost 36) thinking I am a lost cause

Hi @bicyclesandbeyond - Yeah I have PCOS, I have endo, one ovary, a unicornate uterus (Half a womb) and no tubes! So I thought this was one good thing that came of it all haha. Yeah they said on my next round of IVF they would up my dosage due to the amount I got, they were sure that I would have a reaction if they put me on higher dosage due to PCOS so it's very odd. Thank you x

@HJF84 - Hello, I got this today, these are my results from Nuffield health hospital, got them sent via email. The test was only £54. Are you based in UK? I would definitely suggest paying to have it confirmed, I need to take this to a clinic now to make sure I'm reading it right because I'm not the best at reading these types of things, so I couldn't tell you if you are reading it wrong or right, sorry! Maybe try get it done asap just for piece of mind? xx

@HJF84 it doesn’t show on this chart but on the one I saw had a note saying that 95% of women will fall within the range quoted. If you assume a bell curve then anything at the limits of the range would be relatively low/high.
