IVF timelines

Hi all
My husband and I have been referred to a fertility clinic for IVF following various tests we had done at our local NHS hospital. Our initial appointment is mid December. I was wondering roughly what the timeline is and what to expect really. This is all new to us and it's all been a bit of a rollercoaster so far. We are based in London and the clinic we have been referred to is part if Hammersmith Hospital.

TIA

Hi Maz91. We had our first IVF in May 2017. A central London clinic, paid for by Bromley CCG. The clinic rang me in February to book initial consultation for March. By late April I was on the pill for 2-3 weeks (strangely they start you on the pill to quiet down your system before treatment), then having a scan and a withdrawal bleed (when you stop the pill you get a small period which is the official start of your IVF cycle). By May I was taking the follicle stimulation injections for an about 14 days with a few scans and blood tests in the process. In June I had my egg collection and five days later my embryo transfer. I got the positive pregnancy test at start of July. So if you get a similar service (I'm guessing it varies between clinics though) you'll be taking a pregnancy test after IVF cycle complete around April. Good luck x
