Clomid - month 1

Tmw I take my first 50mg of Clomid - eeerkkkk!

I ovulate every month but my specialist thinks it is still worth a go. I'm 36 and have been trying to conceive no.2 for 2 years now (DD conceived with no problem at all - had a emergency c section in 2014).

Would be lovely to talk to someone else starting the Clomid journey around the same time 😊

How are you getting on? I'm hoping to start clomid soon but worried about the risk of twins! Have DD nearly 4 now but been trying over a year for a second child 😊

Can it help even if you’re ovulating regularly? I’ve low reserve and need to think about next steps.

LJM83 · 25/11/2019 19:03

@Wrigleys123 all going on thanks - the side effects have been ok, a few night sweats but nothing too bad. Have my first scan tmw - like you I'm concerned about multiples!

@Livingmagicallyagain - I ovulate every month without fail, apparently Clomid can still help.....not exactly sure how, but it was recommended by my specialist. Sorry can't help more - I'm on another group which has loads of info, will tell you the name.....

Hi
I’ve been trying to conceive for just over 1 year, have no children yet. I have endometriosis and latest bloods showed anovulation.
I’m on day 4 of my first cycle of Clomid. No side effects yet- not sure if that’s a good or bad thing? Wondering if it’s working. I have a scan on 4th Dec.
Wishing you all the luck in the world ladies. X

Hi @LJM83 yes I'm just starting my first clomid cycle too. I'm cycle day 10 and had my scan today. Keeping everything crossed for this week.
Hope your scan goes well!
I also ovulate fine every month, am also 36 and have also been TTC for 2 years!
Main side effects so far have been scary scary nightmares and being a bit emotional / grumpy :-)

LJM83 · 25/11/2019 20:01

@JadeS174 wishing you the best of luck x

@Sylva123 wow - a lot of similarities! How was your scan? I'm intrigued x

@LJM83 the scan was ok. There were 2 follicles so I wasn't over stimulated, which is good news, but the bad news is that the clomid has thinned my lining, which makes implantation harder. I'm going back on Thursday to see if it's thickened up or not.
I'm lucky that I'm getting so many scans, but she doesn't always give me a lot of info whilst I'm there!
I have a really short luteal phase so am having cyclogest (progesterone) with my clomid to see if that does the trick.
Are you ovulation testing?

LJM83 · 26/11/2019 06:39

@Sylva123 sorry to hear that, goodness me there is so much to all of this! It is very clever what they can do / know though - I never knew there were so many options of additional assistance for so many things!

My specialist seems to be the same actually - he is lovely but it's almost like he expects me to understand it all and sometimes I don't feel I can ask for further clarification.

I haven't done an ovulation test actually - on a normal cycle I would have started yesterday, I'll do one this morning and see what it says.

Good luck with your scan tmw x

@Sylva123 can I ask why they put you on Clomid? Do you know your egg reserve?

Fingers crossed for you!!Smile

Sylva123 · 27/11/2019 14:03

@livingmagicallyagain my egg reserve was fine. I have a short luteal phase and low progesterone and they've said clomid & cyclogest can help that 🤞🤞🤞

I start Clomid on my next cycle too in approx 2 weeks so nice to hear of other people on the same shoes. I'm 34 and been TTC for 18 months. Hoping the side effects aren't too bad and keeping fingers crossed the Clomid works for us all.

Sylva123 · 28/11/2019 14:47

Good luck @hd85!
