How does FET work?

Hi

So im just in my 2ww from a fresh cycle (4dp5dt) of a 5AA hatching blast, however, im pretty certain im out. Although i cant say it out loud in fear of being accused of being negative, its just a feeling i have.

Anyway, this has been the best cycle i have had (this is my 6th, DS conceived on my 4th) as far as embryo's are concerned where i have been lucky enough to have 3 embryo's frozen.

So im just trying to find out how FET works as ive never done it. I have PCOS and although my cycles are long (around 42 days) i am pretty regular, if that makes a difference.

Thanks

I've had quite a few FETs now... (no success).

In my experience they put me on the pill so they could control when then cycle started, I then stopped the pill on a set date, and had a bleed.

I then started on progynova, and transfer is 21 days from the date of progynova starting. Depending on what medication you're on you will likely have other meds to take too - I have had all sorts of things as nothing seems to be working.

Progesterone starts around 5 days before transfer.

Hope that helps a little, if you have any more questions please let me know.

Good luck for this cycle!

It depends what your protocol is and if it's medicated or not. There seems to be a few ways of doing it. I've only done medicated and down regged from cd21. Why do you think you're out this cycle?

I have a feeling mine will be medicated. Something someone said to me a few years back, but at the point, my periods were very irregular. Its only since having DS they are now regular.

I dunno, everything has gone so good this time and my blastocysts were all top quality, but instead of that giving me hope, its done the opposite.
Im fighting constantly with symptoms, sore boobs, then no sore boobs. Im cramping (which is normal i know).
I just cant see me getting a BFP....

It hasnt helped at all that ive tested out my trigger. With my DS, i tested positive at 5dp5dt, he was a twin. But not even a sniff of a BFP at the mo.

I’ve know about the 2 types of medicated FET, not so much about the natural one.

Type one which is what I’ve done before. down Reg starting day 21. 2 weeks later a scan to confirm its worked and Then start oestrogen until lining thick enough. Then transfer is between day 20-28 of oestrogen roughly.

Type two - no down Reg. Oestrogen start on day 2 of period. Again transfer day 20-28 roughly

With medicated FET some flexibility when your transfer as long as lining ok you can choose a day between 20-28 or so that suits you and clinic (can be shorter or longer if needs be).

There’s also a natural FET but I’ve not done that. There I think you just have transfer a set no of days after you ovulate. Means no faffing with meds but have to have more predictable periods and also lining naturally needs to be decent.

Hope ur not out though! With my DS I had a bfn with a first response until 7dp5dt (I couldn’t see line but DH could).
