Hi there,

This is my first ever post so sorry if it’s too long. I was wondering if anyone could give me pros and cons of medicated vs natural FET cycle according to to their own experiences.

I recently did my first FET, after I couldn’t go ahead with ET after my egg collection due to health issues. I did a medicated cycle, was pregnant for about 2 weeks before I miscarried, which I just knew had happened because of a gut feeling rather than bleeding due to all the hormones I was on. A negative test confirmed it, and once I came off the hormones as advised by my clinic I did indeed bleed.

We luckily have 2 frozen embryos, and we were planning to try again in the new year. I’d like to do a natural cycle this time as I just hate be idea of pumping myself full of hormones again but obviously over everything i don’t want to jeopardise the success of this FET.

I just wondered if anyone had any experiences they could share that could help me decide either way?

I had two transfers after egg collections (so medicated ) which did not work. We then did a natural FET which worked. I found the natural so much easier and I believed my transfers that I had while medicated didn't work because they were at an artificial point in my cycle. I do have a very regular cycle though which I think helps with a natural cycle.

It’s good to know the natural cycle worked better for you. I also have regular cycles so hopefully that will work in my favour too. I didn’t realise it was an option for the last cycle, otherwise I would have considered it then too!
