Stims - how many days??

Undergoing my first IVF cycle. My protocol was unusual in that there was no down regging, just oestrogen supplements for 10
days. I’m on day 5 of stims and starting to get quite uncomfortable. I’ve now added the fyrmadel (sp) in the mornings too. I have a scan on Monday. How many days have people been on the stims for before egg collection? I’m guessing it’ll be another week but hoping I am almost half way through!

I was on gonal-f injections for 10 days in the end.

Not what you want to hear prove my but I've had 3 short protocols cycles and stimmed for 14, 14 and 15 days 😬

Arrghh I really don’t want to carry on for that long 😩 I suppose it all depends on how the follicles are developing.

I'm on short protocol and I don't get scanned until day 9. Then from what they have predicted (obviously it could change) they expect egg collection to be from 3 days after that. So minimum 12 days I guess. Uncomfortable in what way? I'm only day 2 so I don't feel any different yet, aside from the usual AF stuff

@mseddy thanks - sounds like you’ve been given a bit more information than I was!

Just feeling bloated and keep needing to wee, general twingy feeling / discomfort low down in my stomach but not pain exactly.

I cant remember exactly but I had 2 short protocol cycles on different atoms. With both I started having scans from the 4th day and every 2 or 3 days later depending how development was progressing. I had one lot removed at 12 days and one at 14 days.
One of the stims was merional and really didn't suit me. It made me feel awful. I was miserable ( to the exreme), blew up like a balloon, my friend joked my boobs looked like space rockets thet were so incredibly painful as was my whole body and, i was a psycho. The cycle produced no decent embryos.
My second cycle was on gonal. Totally different, no real problems and 3 embryos.
I think it depends on the stims and your body.i also took it much easier second time around which I think made a huge difference.
Feet up, lavender bath, instruct DP he/she is now your servant and relax. ( I was also told to eat loads of protein the 2nd time) so give it a try!

Sounds like you had a really rough ride, pleased to say that mentally I’m (fingers crossed) doing ok - apart from the fact I can’t do my jeans up - will be stretchy leggings and dresses for a little while I think! DH is being great too which helps.

@Youngatheart00 hopefully this will mark the beginning of long period on nt being able to do your jeans up and being very fat😉🙏
