Summary: Chemical pregnancy two weeks ago on my first IVF cycle, was going to have an FET next cycle...but I've gotten my period ten days early. They want me to go in for my scan this morning and to start all the hormones again. They don't know why my period came so early (just two weeks after my last one)

I need a break...I had a really upsetting week, the fact of losing the pregnancy really hit me, and my doctor gave me a week of xanax for the panic attacks. I'm not usually like this, but perhaps this is not the week start taking more hormones...what do you all think? I have to leave for the clinic in just over an hour....

Go to the clinic, have a scan they'll have an idea where you are in your cycle and explain you're not ready this cycle and wait for the next one. It does feel too soon, I was always wanting to crack on after my MCs but even that would be too soon for me.

My clinic insists on a withdrawal bleed and normal period before starting a FET as they feel this has a better success rate.
If you are not ready, discuss waiting. If the next go doesn’t work, you may wish you had waited longer?!

Thank you both! I think the scan costs 150euro (I'm not in the UK), but I'll just ask them to put it on the tab...for the FET. Thanks again for being so lovely xx

@Maggie272 i hope you got on okay X id say what the other ladies said get ur scan sorted leave a menstrual cycle gap and then try again ive been having ALOT of anxiety this wk and its soo hard its all the uncertainity it plays havoc with your mind take care

Xanax - be careful, it's addictive and can cause rebound anxiety.

@Maggie272 how did it go? I was about to agree with the others that it is best to postpone it. You want to be in the best place both mentally and physically.

@2fingers22018 It's so hard! I was doing great, but this week...there was wine, is all I'll say. Xanax by day, wine by night. @AliceAbsolum don't worry, I just got two days worth. I'm a non drinker and all....just goes to show how stressful it can all be. Went to Kundalini yoga workshop after scan so feeling better.

@Betsyboo87 I did actually have to say, please put it on the tab, cos the girl behind the desk asked for the full amount for the FET! I said hold up, I'll be in again.

Girls thanks so much for replying. I'm still not in the headspace to make a decision. I'll be 37 in Feb. That was a deadline for me. I'm trying to workout if waiting another 3 weeks (my cycles are shorter) is going to make things harder...just the question of the ticking clock.

In case anyone sees this - my nurse today said that the fact that I have been stressed won't make any difference to the outcome. Woop! The wine, the xanax, the meltdown are all fine.

My scan was fine, no cysts, about to bleed. On the inside I'm perfect, lining, ovaries, resentment and rage all intact : p
