PCOS - high LH level but no period

Hi all, first time poster - long time reader.

I have PCOS. I have taken metformin to start my periods at the age of 18 and it worked for me - I had a whole year where I didn't have my period. I had no intention of having children at the time. I'm now 24, married and ready. I have been put on metformin again as it helped last time but it's now 4 months and nothing has happened. I am pretty sure it didn't take this long last time. I was also on the pill for two years this time though. I went off it in Dec 2018. I've took pregnancy tests all negative, have had only slightly sore boobs and cramps from time to time but no period.

Last week on the 11th I took an ovulation test and it was faint so it was negative. Took a few then the line became darker. Did the deed and then two days after was back to negative again.

Has anyone else gone through this? If metformin worked for me before doesn't it make sense for it to work again? Is the LH level indicating I'm ovulating?

Thanks
