Clomid + Progesterone. BFN at 14DPO - Definitely out, right?

The progesterone extends my cycle until I stop taking it. Clinic tells me to take the progesterone for 14 days post ovulation then test. If BFN, take for a further 7 days then stop if another bfn. AF arrives 4 days after last pessary.

I don't want to be wasting time taking the progesterone for nothing if I'm not pregnant, so if I have a BFN at 14dpo, I'm definitely not pregnant, right? This extra 7 days is just delaying AF for no reason?

@HeyHeyWhatever I would do the extra 7 days as there must be a reason. I think that it's because you there's a possibility that it could be a false negative and as progesterone prepares the uterus to receive a fertilised embryo, if you stop and it has actually implanted you could lose the viable implanted embryo......

It's just a big part of me thinks that if the tests are still negative as late as 14dpo, there's no chance I'm pregnant. Surely if an egg had fertilised it would have implanted by then, and HCG would have risen.

It then feels like I'm just extending my cycle unnecessarily and dragging out this horrendous process. A day feels like a lifetime in this journey, so wilfully adding another 7 when there's little chance of a pregnancy feels nuts.

@HeyHeyWhatever I'm on many threads on here and lots of girls haven't got their BFP until dayssssss after AF is due. You have to take the chance and brave out the 7 days, otherwise you will never know if you had a little bubba starting to grow and you didn't give it the chance. Be strong ❤️
