First fertility clinic appointment, we have ours on Wednesday. It says it's just a consultation but letter also says to come prepared for tests to be done that day. When I phoned the booking office (letter hadn't come through at this point) they said usually it's just talking over history etc and planning way forward. What are the chances for any tests being done that day? How have other people's gone? I've had day 21 blood tests and day 8, showed no problems. Partner will need SA, tho hasn't been done as GP couldn't facilitate. Hoping he can have that done on Wednesday too. Think il be day 8 of my cycle on the day of appointment - would love it if we could get ahead and get more tests done whilst we're there. Not sure if I'm being completely unrealistic though!!

@BewilderedBee hello, we had ours last month. They ask about your medical history and then I had an internal scan. Hubby had bloods taken and was asked to come back the following week to provide a SA (his 3rd - 2 previous through GP) With my clinic, It really depends on what’s wrong if they recommend a treatment plan and put you on the waiting list or ask you to book in again for further tests. If your hubby’s SA comes back low they will want a second sample I think. Hope this helps :)

We had to have all our tests before our appointment. My blood tests and OHs SA. The first appointment was just discussing our histories and what our results were. We then discussed our next steps. I have my second appointment next week after having an internal ultrasound which discovered an endometrial ovarian cyst thus cancelling the need for me to have an HSG.

Thanks both. Can I ask how much of a gap it is between first and second appointment? I'm guessing it varies throughout the country!
