FET and giving myself the best chance

OK ladies - looking for some tips : )

Going for FET in early november. Had fresh transfer over two weeks ago that ended in a chemical pregnancy. Two frozen embryos in the freezer, all embryos really good. No one can say why it didn't work. I should say that we are fine, not upset, going with the flow but want to give myself the best chance!

Am vegan, healthy. Male factor infertility. Takaing Omegas, vitamins, and chilling.

If you have any advice it would be very welcome!

Since it's male factor then you should be fine ......there were an interesting few articles lately however where Veganism was found to affect fertility negatively as a plant based diet can lack Vitamins B12, A, Omega 3 and DHA amongst other things so I'd maybe take additional supplements to counter that?
Vegan diets often lack cholesterol which is important for estrogen and progesterone productions but I don't know what supplements you could take with that in it? X

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted thanks so much for replying! Yes, my bloods are all great - iron Vit D & B12 and colesterol. My GP said my diet is great. I just thought there was something magical...personally, I do think stress plays a part. This cycle, I'm going to cut back on work, get my massages (acupuncture doesn't really do it for me anymore) and cook amazing meals. I know some people talk about ashwaganda and Co enzyme q10...might try it.

I stated taking 200mg coq10 after my first egg collection and also swapped on to Proceive Max supplements but they are hideously expensive. I read about evening primrose so might give that a go if we do another cycle?

A lot of clinics actually get better results with FET as the body is having time to rest after all the stimming drugs and makes the environment more hospitable so 🤞🤞 for you!

I got the call this evening to say my PGS results are in so for a nervous wait until the Dr rings me tomorrow to go through them 😬😬

I think you have most of my advice covered! I ensured I had a balanced diet, drank plenty of water, cut caffeine, gave up alcohol and took folic acid and vit d. I also made myself get out for a walk each day (5k ish) and made sure I got plenty of sleep.

I think you’re right about stress levels and the effects. I read one of your previous posts and your story really resonated with me. DH and I also feel we have a good life and consequently have a more laid back attitude to ivf. What ultimately made us go for it was that we didn’t want it to get too late and then wish we had at least tried.

@Betsyboo87 yes! that's so good to hear. I think it's an attitude you need to cultivate from the beginning, and try to be grateful as much as we can.

I did put on a little weight this year. I had back surgery, and then felt rotten on the pill and buserelin and couldn't get out of bet on the progesterone! I'm normally very fit and although I'm not overweight I'm not myself. So happy now to be off all the drugs and can go for a big hill walk. Just did thirty minutes of yoga and my legs are like jelly : )

Thank you - our of the two we sent for testing 1 came back abnormal and the other has minor mosaicism but we are going to transfer it anyway

Results can back much quicker than I was expecting - clinic said up to 6 weeks but it's only been 2!

that's wonderful that you're going to transfer! Do you know when? My next one will be in early November xxx

I think it will be the second week of November depending on when my period comes - I had a post collection bleed starting last Saturday and on my last cycle I then got another period 3 weeks later and as did non medicated transfers the waiting time was much shorter

@Viletta thank you! Far from it, I think. There's a certain comfort in knowing you can really only do your best. That's all, and not beat yourself up if it doesn't work.
