Avoid unprotected sex after HSG?

Hi all!

I had my (excruciating) HSG done this morning (both tubes totally open. Yay!) and wanted to ask what advice people in other places get on this.

My gyne has repeatedly advised me to avoid getting pregnant this cycle. Looking around (which I deliberately didn’t do beforehand) it looks like most people get told to wait a day or two then carry on??

My gyne was strongly implying that the radiation level and possible effects on follicles was the reason.

Did anyone else get told this?

I mean I am likely fully anovulatory so the point is moot... just can’t help hoping tho right! 🤣

Thanks for reading x

No, no instructions given when I had mine.

And realistically, all of your developing follicles are also being irradiated so it doesn’t really make sense to only avoid conception for that month.

I've just had mine too and have been told to avoid conception this month but seems silly to " not try"
