Egg collection

Hi all, I know everyone's different but just wondering on what cycle day people have had their egg collection for ivf? I can't find anything online that gives a guide and my other half works away a lot so just trying to work out if we could even do it this year x

My ivf clinic gives a guide of cycle day 12 but I do short protocol mild ivf so I only inject from the 2nd day of my cycle. I don't think full ivf can give as narrow a timeframe

Mine was on cd13 and that was a bit early than planned, as I responded quite strongly. That would have been the day after my usual ovulation day (but I have a short cycle).

The problem is that it’s really hard to tell. My egg collection was delayed by 3 days from the planned date and that was considered quite normal. They may also ‘down reg’ your cycle first so you might not be working to the dates of your normal cycle.

I’d suggest speaking to the clinic. If there are times you know he will be home it may be possible to time it accordingly. I don’t know if you can freeze sperm. They usually do it fresh but I would have thought it is possible as it is used for those who need to freeze sperm before cancer for example.

Thank you ladies and yeah @BlueLadybird I know exactly when he'll be home and they did mention sperm freezing on the phone I've been tracking my cycles for 2 years so I'm just going to take all the information I have in and hope they can time things around him. I've read that some ivf companies control your cycle start date to help with planning but I don't know if that's in England or if my clinic would consider it x

My clinic (England) gave me norethisterone to time my cycle so that they could plan dates.

For frozen embryo transfers however, they went on my natural cycle and I just had to monitor myself for ovulation.

@Podemos thank you I might mention norestatin at the consultation I have one natural cycle left before the cycle I'm preying we can start ivf and I've been using the clearblue sticks so I can give them a good idea what's going on 🤞 he's going to be home for two weeks so if we can control when my cycle starts I can't see why it couldn't work. Obviously I'm not medically trained though so I'm sure they will tell me why it won't work x

It's really hard to judge like pps said, medication will override your natural cycles and everyone responds different, I know women who had EC at day 9 and others at day 20, you will only get 48 hours notice usually so I would definitely consider freezing sperm
