Hi all been striggeling to conceive for a while now, went to the Gp and we have been referred to a family planning clinic. Just wondering what to expect on the 1st appointment really, will they do any testes then and what questions do they ask. Any help would be appreciated I want to prepare myself as much as possible. TIA

Hi there!

When you say family planning, do you mean the fertility clinic/gynaecology specialist?

If so, I had my first appointment at the end of May (NHS) and we saw a specialist nurse, who asked us lots of questions and set up all our tests for the following month or so. She also did a quick swap ;up there' and I had a baseline blood test that day!

Our next appointment, now all the tests have been done at various times, is the beginning of October, so I'm afraid you may have to be prepared for a long wait. This will be with the consultant and he/she will have all of our results and, I hope, suggest the best course of action. :)

I hope this helps.
