Sperm analysis results - Help!!

Hi,
Husband is due to get his results from the sperm test 2 weeks. Just a bit concerned as they said the results were in but they couldn’t give it over the phone and needed to make an appointment (that was the next available)!

Has anyone had any positive news from this or is it not looking great that we have can’t have the results over the phone??

Also.... praying there’s not but if there is a problem what is the next step? 😫 Going out my mind a bit!!. Xx

Hi there. No experience of the sperm test results other than to say try not to worry yet. My partner had one at a private clinic who emailed within a few days and another on the NHS. When he called for the NHS results they wouldn’t give them to him for data protection reasons(?!). And they turned out fine.

Who is the appointment with? Any way you could expedite it and try to get a cancellation?

If they do come back with an issue then options include trying to make lifestyle changes to improve. Or going to IUI or ICSI. I am sure your doctor/clinic will help advise.

Hi. We didn’t get down results over the phone either at both hospitals we’ve had it done at. Had to wait until we went in for appointments, and although DHs sperm isn't amazing its was still okay for them to do IVF normally not ICSI so it didn’t mean anything bad to have to have the appointment.
They were both NHS tests.

As BlueladyBird says try and ring up to get a cancellation to speed it up a bit? Sometimes you can get lucky if you’re persistent.

Thank you... we will definitely be on at them for cancellations. The appointment is with the GP, it was an NHS test. This one was the second one he’s done (they called a few days after the first to say it needed redoing but couldn’t say why). X

They asked my DH to do a second one as well, then he had to do a third a couple of years later when we actually came to do ivf
