Hi

I’ve just started my ivf journey with ABC I’ve done loads of research on different clinic and this seemed the best fit.

I have a 5year old daughter and she happened as a bit of a fluke as we’ve been trying ever since to have a second have had many investigations via NHS to get the answer of unexplained 😡

The journey with abc so far has been pretty smooth. I’ve had my initial consultation and needed a further blood test and semen analysis too which was £100. I’m a needle phobe and they where absolutely amazing didn’t hurt and put me at ease now I’m not dreading the next blood tests.

The nurse I saw Bridget was fabulous and has been ever so reassuring and always has time for stupid questions she is wonderful.

I’ve booked my treatment consultation and am hoping to start with my next cycle in September.

Anyone on a similar journey?

Also hoping to start my first cycle in September. Have same apprehensions (and needle phobia!) as you but trying to keep the end goal in mind.

I’m struggling with the 30-35% success rate TBH. I’m quite logical and that suggests to me it’s odds-on to fail. My head says no but my heart says yes.

Good luck on your journey!

@Blankspace4 I hadn’t my first blood test with them on Tuesday an honestly it was so much stress and anxiety over nothing. They were fantastic I’ve never had a blood test where I honestly didn’t feel a thing and I’m so sensitive it’s usually extremely painful for me. I’m not dreading the next one at all now. And even contemplating private health care for the rest of my journey so I don’t get stressed.

Out of interest where did you get those rates from? On their website it’s much higher and anything else I’ve heard is also much higher success rate. I suppose it depends on case to case though.

I have pcos that’s now under control with metformin use 1000mg a day for the last year. I’ve been told basically I should be getting pregnant as there is nothing wrong but hasn’t happened yet so I have high hopes for it working for me.

I’m going to the London clinic where are you visiting?

Hello , how is it going at ABC. I am considering to start the treatment with them in October. Any experience or tips will be welcomed. Thanks

Needtotalkivf19 · 04/12/2019 22:35

Hello, I know this post was a while ago but could you please tell me how you found abc, and would you recommed them??
Thanks

FlapJackered · 06/12/2019 09:24

Hi @fuschia1 and @Needtotalkivf19 I would check out this thread as lots of experiences on there www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/3190015-ABC-Infertility

I am due to start with ABC in Bristol in January, so far I have just had the consultation but was really impressed and reassured.

@Needtotalkivf19
Hi I am new to this , just wanted to know how did you get on with abc ? Did you end up going there ?
I have just booked my initial consultation online so I am eager to know anyone’s experience at the London clinic , hoping to start treatment next month in April

Needtotalkivf19 · 14/03/2020 09:06

Hello @Blessing786
I didn’t use the London clinic, mine is the Manchester one, they have been good from start to finish, the staff have been friendly and helpful, and even tho I got a negative result I’d still recommend them. I will hopefully be able to start a frozen transfer in may.
They are extra cost which are all explained to you before you start but it still a lot cheaper than some places I looked at. Good luck with your journey xX

DobbieFreeElf · 14/03/2020 09:19

Hi @Blessing786, I used ABC Wimbledon and they were great (I did have my initial consultation at Harley Street though, personally I’m glad we carried on at Wimbledon because I found the staff there more friendly) Because my EC fell on a Sunday I ended up having both EC and ET at St. Paul’s, the facility was good and the staff were all friendly, helpful and professional. I conceived first time although still early days 😊

DobbieFreeElf · 14/03/2020 09:20

Oh and we ended up needing to have ICSI and decided to freeze our remaining embryos which meant that it was a bit more costly but ultimately (hopefully) worth it x

fuschia1 · 14/03/2020 10:15

@Blessing786 I had an extremely happy with ABC Harley Street, exceptional staff! I decided to go for my initial consultation in Nov and with that cycle trratment started. Bridget , the consultany nurse was amazing and she always instill a sense of faith. Luckily , I had positive pregnancy with my first round of IVF with them and have frozen embroyes. All procedures were carried out at St. Pauls clinic. I cant thank god and ABC for this.

Blessing786 · 14/03/2020 11:12

@DobbieFreeElf oh really ! We actually live next to Wimbledon in Wandsworth but for whatever reason I just could not find much information on the Wimbledon branch and also I thought Harley street uses CREATE lab which seems very legit but I couldn’t find much on the Wimbledon lab ..although being in Wimbledon would have been much more convenient than travelling to central. I guess I will go and see on my initial consultation and see how I feel about them ... I just didn’t see many posts on Wimbledon and my gut feeling said go with Harley street Hmm.... too many decisions to make in this ivf process. So Happy it worked first time for you though SmileFlowers

DobbieFreeElf · 14/03/2020 22:21

Wimbledon is also Create and they do ECs and ETs there (just not on a Sunday!) when you’re going for a scan every other day having your clinic nearby/ easy to get to would be the best, it’s a 2 hour round trip (depending on the A3) for me but obviously a lot easier than trekking into central London. Just to let you know, if you have your initial consultation at Harley Street but continue at Wimbledon it’s totally possible but can be a little bit of a faff making sure they all know what’s going on. Harley Street obviously has the Harley Street name, the clinic there is slightly smaller but not much of a difference.

Lucinda at Wimbledon was great, she made me feel much more at ease and better informed than the lady from the initial consultation at HS.

Good luck! X

Blessing786 · 08/05/2020 23:32

Blessing786 · 11/06/2020 18:16

Hi I know this thread may be getting old but wanted to know @Needtotalkivf19 how did your frozen transfer go at the end. I was forced to do freeze all due to my hormone levels and my egg collection is tomorrow

Sullysully · 07/04/2022 19:14
