Weeks away from ivf... late period

Hi everyone really need to speak to people who may have been through this.. right so we’ve sorted everything for ivf.... waiting for appointment to start. But.... I’m 9days late on my period today. I did a test Sunday morning but was negative. Had sex Sunday night and had a tiny bit of blood when wiped 🙈 then nothing... last night again same thing happened, I’m going to test again in the morning but I’ve no idea what to think 🙈 has anyone else had this?

OP, it might be worth seeing your GP, bleeding after sex can be absolutely nothing, but can also not be a good sign. X

I made an appointment at a clinic and then found out I was pregnant after a year or so of trying. When I rang to cancel the receptionist said this quite often happens. You stop stressing as much as you have made plans to move forward/investigate and bang there it happens 😊 good luck x

Period arrived today so maybe it was stress that I dint know I was really having 😂 never mind hopefully better luck with the ivf. Thanks again everyone xx

Are you starting injections tomorrow then?

Maybe it was anticipation more than stress. Things never come on time when we want them too!

That’s true.! I have to call my dr tomorrow to let him know I’ve started then go from there xx

Hi, I know this thread is from ages ago! I'm going through a similar thing - waiting to start IVF and wanting my period to start, I'm now 35 days late and usually on a 28-30 day cycle. Worrying like crazy that something is wrong but hoping it's just due to stress. Trying not to panic but feeling sad and overwhelmed. What if it never comes?!

Hey FlorenceDot! I’ve just been scrolling through and thought I would share that I am in a similar position. I’ve been tracking my cycles for around 18 mnths now and I’m an average 28 days give or take.
Waiting to start IVF (and have my baseline scan) too and this month my body decides to ovulate later than normal and so now still no P day 33. I feel a bit silly now that I didn’t realise late ovulation would deffo delay things. I have some time booked off work for treatment - so frustrating. xx

Hello LittleMy89! I'm glad I'm not alone in this... I'm just so fed up. Have been waiting for 2.5 - 3 years for this on the NHS, thought things would move fairly quickly in January once I 'started' but it's just taking forever. Cannot believe that my body is not playing ball this month. Currently on day 36 and still no sign. I did a pregnancy test the other day just to make sure, and it was negative (unsurprisingly).

I'm sorry this is happening to you too, even more frustrating if you'd booked time off work. Luckily I'm quite flexible as I'm self employed but I'm really struggling to be motivated with work!

I am so sorry you are having another waiting game on top of such a long build up. It’s a real kick in the teeth isn’t it.

Hard for anyone to understand what another is going through and to say the right thing - but just remember you are doing great- you are dealing with a lot so be kind to yourself. It’s a long journey and you have come so far! It’s OK not to be able to give all areas of your life 100% right now.

I truly hope things get going soon for you. Rooting for you! All we can do is our best. 👊🏼

This happened to me as well! I was due to start in February but was two weeks late which I never ever am, had to start the next month.

Thank you. Still no sign of it. Feeling very low and worrying that something is really wrong. I know I should be trying to relax and not worry but it’s near impossible! I just feel so sad today.

Hello! This is good to know… thank you! I am so so late now and just don’t know what is going on?! I’m so regular usually. Trying not to panic but it’s so hard not to.

Honestly I think it’s just stress and our bodies having a laugh! So so annoying but mine came eventually.
