Waiting time from IVF referral to treatment?

I was wondering if anyone who has been referred for IVF in the last year or so could share how long they had to wait to find out if their funding was agreed, and then how long for treatment to start?

I'm based in Suffolk and I know I'm lucky in that they do find some IVF here. It's such a hard journey though, and my consultant had no idea how long I might be waiting because I go to a hospital in an area that doesn't fund IVF so it's very rare they request it there.

We filled in paperwork at our hospital referral to the ivf unit and started two months later. Due to start injecting 23rd

Based in London. Took a year of tests to get to the stage of referral;

Early May - referral sent
Early June - hospital requested that we fill in various forms online / provide ID etc
Early July - they reviewed our case and out of forward to local trust for funding
Early August - found out we have been accepted for funding and have an appointment later this month with a consultant to look at next steps

So quite quick once we got to the referral stage and no waiting list at the hospital. My doctor did say he doesn’t end up referring many people as they don’t fit the criteria / I imagine a lot of people give up and go private due to the wait. Hope you do not have to wait too long from here.

Good luck to you all. The waits don't sound toooooo terrible, hopefully mine won't be. I was worried how long they may be. I've had over a year of prodding and poking and various medications and now it's the waiting game.

Mine would have been a year, a few months to get our first appointment then we went on the 9 month waiting list for IVF, we went private instead. Good luck, it's completely random depending on your area.
