Today is OTD and I'm 99% sure it's negative but the clinic aren't sure so want to test again Monday 🤦🏼‍♀️ tww is officially tww but from transfer not collection!

My last BFP didn't show up till five weeks which I think is why they're being cautious. I hate pessaries though so another three days is going to annoy me!

I would go get an frer and if the clinic aren’t sure Can’t you ask to have a beta blood test to confirm?

Persipan · 09/08/2019 09:58

Frankly that looks like a positive to me, and also those strip tests are crap and are usually really faint for ages. Go get a FRER and test again. Fingers crossed!

magpiecounter · 09/08/2019 10:03

@Persipan it's the one the fertility clinic have given me though so I thought it would be reliable. I might go out for a FRER. I'm 11dp5dt so I expected it to be strong and clear by now.

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF the clinic is four/five hours away so we wouldn't be able to go till Monday now anyway. Just awaiting a phone call from them...

I sort of see something - I'd go and get any other test than those cheap strip ones they are awful x

magpiecounter · 09/08/2019 10:13

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted I'm not holding out hope. We had two blasts put back so it should be super strong by now. I will go out and buy a FRER year and see what that says. My money is on negative though. I thought the strips they give you at the ivf clinic were the MOST reliable!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 09/08/2019 10:22

@magpiecounter oh wow yes that is a bit of a drive! I would definitely go get an frer then I don’t like those strips so hard to see. Fingers crossed for you

magpiecounter · 09/08/2019 12:44

@Persipan you've given me hope and I'm now scared of heart break 🤦🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
Persipan · 09/08/2019 13:03

I know it's really scary. I'm here, in your corner. You can handle this, whatever comes next, whatever another test shows.

magpiecounter · 09/08/2019 13:22

Thank you all for being here today for me. I've been out and bought a FRER and will test again in the morning.

CornishMaid1 · 09/08/2019 13:41

To be fair, I can see a faint line on it.

If AF hasn't arrived then the clinic will often ask you to wait another day or two and test again just in case.

Good luck for the test tomorrow.

magpiecounter · 09/08/2019 13:55

@CornishMaid1 I have no AF but I think that's because I'm on cyclogest suppositories and that'll be keeping it away. I get pain like af cramps at night if I lie in my left side but the go away in the day and are ok if I'm on my right side. It's all confusing as this is my first go round the IVF/ICSI journey. We've already accepted a negative result and decided we do one more go at ICSI before adoption gets discussed.

Plus I have repurposed the changing table unit as my own chest of drawers as my pants have been homeless for two years and finally have a place to go! It made me feel better to use some of the baby stuff for a purpose than have it sitting around!

OP posts:
magpiecounter · 09/08/2019 13:56

Just FYI we didn't buy loads of baby stuff we already had it in the house and my SIL gives us all the stuff her kids grow out of!

You can take a FRER at any time of day. Do it whenever you want of course but just saying it doesn’t need to be a morning wee.

TinyPaws · 09/08/2019 16:37

I can see a faint second line on that test. Hopefully the FRER will give you a clearer result.

Teddybear45 · 09/08/2019 16:39

Looks a lot like my positive after my transfer. The tests the clinic provide are shit. I supplemented with pink dye and clearblue digital a day later and they were both positive.

magpiecounter · 10/08/2019 08:34

Ok so I did the FRER this morning and I'm still unsure... maybe wait till Monday and do another one 🤦🏼‍♀️ anyone thinking CP? I'd be 12dp5dt today but I think I'm awful at pregnancy tests! Won't let me post a picture till tomorrow though! Arrrrgh this is hard!

OP posts:
magpiecounter · 10/08/2019 09:06

This is the FRER test bit the lone is so faint it must be another mistake.

I can definitely see a line

Persipan · 10/08/2019 09:18

You're having such a tough time with this, I'm so sorry.

That's definitely a positive but I can understand why you're concerned about it being quite faint for where you are. The main thing, really, is whether your HCG increases, which ideally you'd have betas taken at 48 hour intervals, but in the absence of being able to do that then yes, testing again in a day or two is a good idea. It's still possible to have quite a low level of HCG at this stage and things go on to be fine, but it's also possible that, as you suggest, it's a sign of things not progressing, so I absolutely understand your worry. Sending you solidarity hugs.

magpiecounter · 10/08/2019 09:42

Finally got a clear one

Tentative congratulations!
Was this a frozen transfer - I've heard they can take a bit longer to really get going so maybe you implanted later x

magpiecounter · 10/08/2019 11:09

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted it was a fresh transfer. We had two put back so I would have expected a stronger line if it was both but we were given 40-50% odds so I thought two would be safe

OP posts:
Whatelsecouldibecalled · 10/08/2019 16:37

I can see a line on the frer for definite. Tentative congratulations. Hope it gets stronger for you. I would test again with another frer with first morning wee tomorrow

AliceAbsolum · 10/08/2019 17:15

Get a blood test if you can. Can't argue with numbers!
