Pregnancy whilst on IVF meds?!

I guess my question is that... has anyone been caught whilst taking the medication in preparation for a FET?

We were advised against DTD without protection for the initial egg collection and fresh transfer. But nothing for the frozen..

TIA xx

Wouldn’t you test before taking anything and starting a cycle? I’m also not sure what the odds are given that couples needing IVF find it very hard to get pregnant.

You can't start the medication for a frozen transfer until you have a period. So no chance of being pregnant at that point.

However, we have unexplained fertility, so not really anything wrong on paper, just 2.5 years of no luck. All the medication for the FET is oestrogen and progesterone based, so just increasing what is produced normally. I always ovulate.

With the hightened hormones I'm just wondering if it's possible.

I've had a lot of nausea and thick creamy CM which I never get as part of a normal cycle. I'm fully aware this could literally be no more than a reaction to the medication.

My FET is due on tuesday so will test on that morning. Period due next Friday so 4 days before on a FRER should rule it out.

Literally just wondering Smile

Just POAS.

A quick Google will show you it's possible.

I will be doing, as above.

The post was to ask if this has happened to anyone else 😁👍🏻

Didn’t happen to me. ‘Unexplained’ was explained in a different clinic. ‘Unexplained’ is about medicine not being able to explain sth yet rather than bad luck.

I think CM is due to the estrogen?

Not really sure how someone would get pregnant naturally during a medicated cycle as it stops natural ovulation. So where would that egg come from?

I do non medicated FET but will additional progesterone supplements and I tried naturally each time and the clinic were fine with that

Thanks @JoJoSM2 I know the meds for egg collection stop ovulation but wasnt aware meds for FET did as it's just oestrogen and progesterone. Interesting

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted good to hear we haven't jeopardized anything xx

Yes, they stop ovulation. It’s a non medicated FET if you ovulate and the FET is timed with your natural cycle. Maybe that’s the type of FET some ladies might report getting pregnant during?

This isn't that helpful as I don't know details. My friend had started ivf (all I know is she'd taken some meds, no idea which ones but part of ivf) and fell pregnant. Sadly it ended in an ectopic. She's also unexplained but her dh doesn't have great sperm.
