Stims - side effects and worries?

Hi all,

I was on a couple of threads with some lovely people but dropped off as it wasn't doing my head any good (if anyone reading this remembers me from those threads I have been thinking of you all and hope things are going well!)

I'm on Day 3 of Bemfola (short protocol) and have got it into my head that I'm somehow doing the injections wrong and it's not actually getting in... I'm getting background headaches but nothing else and completely paranoid that I must be doing it wrong because I don't feel awful, even though it's probably just too early!

Was hoping for a wee bit of reassurance... what side effects did you get from stims and roughly when did they start? Thanks very much in advance xx

I remember being really annoyed (on Gonal f) that I wasn't getting any side effects, because it was so expensive and I wanted to know it was doing something!

Not everyone gets side effects, so please don't worry.

@ivf2019 I was on bemfola and the only side effect I really got was s few headaches for a few days and then I was ok until the injection was added and I’d get the same and then just the bloating! Hope that helps

I had no sight effects when stimming. I'm sure you are doing everything alright. There are videos on the sites of the injection providers (who ever is the manufacturer) showing how to inject if you want to double check. Good luck!

I had no side effects on bemfola either and until the first scan was panicking that nothing was working! I had a terrible cold cough and then conjunctivitis during my short protocol but that was nothing to do with IVF just a contagious DC - I would have felt absolutely fine otherwise! 🤣
