No Euploid embryos :(

I have just gotten PGS results from our 2nd cycle of IVF and am feeling disappointed, lost and sad.

I just want to know if I have unusually bad results or are our results on par with others?

I am 41 in sept. 1st cycle ended with 3 embryos tested and all aneuploid
Went straight into 2nd round and 4 tested and 3 Aneuploid and 1 no result. I don't hold out much hope that this 1 is Euploid and am not sure I should risk the double freeze for a rebiopsy.

Very upset and am not sure what to do next.

Is our lack of Euploid embryos abnormal or are we getting the same results as others for our age who do not do PGS testing? Because if we didn't do testing we would have 7 embryos on the freezer and just have failed transfers or possible miscarriages.

Please anyone with any positivity for me? :(

I'm not sure if you've seen some of the studies dismissing pgs testing as an effective way of predicting pregnancy success?? Obviously, this depends on the cause of the aneuploidy, whether mosaic or triploid, etc...

It does seem like you've had some bad luck... I've seen graphs that suggest that maybe 50% of 5day blasts at your age (roughly) should be euplpid... have you guys had sperm dna fragmentation testing?

It's such a difficult decision, but please don't discard out of hand the use of the inconclusive embryo (at least) because of flaws in the assumptions made with pgs...

I won't discard this 1 embryo and probably won't retest it...just keep it as a last resort transfer.

Maybe considering not using PGS in another round.
No we haven't had sperm DNA fragment testing...was told lily all issues would be egg/age related as fertilisation rates and sperm tests are all good.
Not sure if I should risk changing meds to me out next round or trying low dose ivf....always had 10 ish eggs collected...8 mature.
So confused and lost as I can't afford much more treatment

How ridiculous of them to say that it can't possibly be sperm, I mean, that's half the genetic material for the embryo?! If you're going to do another round, I'd do sperm fragmentation testing and no pgs...

Can't find it just now, but there was a big American study where women used aneuploid embryos (as they had no others) that resulted in babies. And I don't mean isolated incidences, like this happened on a large scale. It seems some embryos can self-correct, or the aneuploid cells went on to become part of the placenta and created no issues... this is calling into question the use of pgs testing full stop as it may not be the magic solution to find the best embryos as once thought. The stakes are high. It's hard to know what the best thing to do is!!
