IVF Eggs collected

Hello Ladies

I just had EC today 6.7.19 not sure what really happened. During my last scan i had 6 good sized follicles.

However today they only collected 2 eggs, they other follicles had no eggs in it. My doctor said it's very strange that.

We are having a frozen transfer after the genetic screening.

Trying to stay positive but I'm feeling deflated, tearful as i was not expecting this to happen.

Has anyone got any positive stories for 2 eggs with IVF?

Thank you

Amelia

It's all about quality not quantity.....I got 12 eggs and only 3 made to freeze And they weren't great quality. My clinic only did PGS on 3+ embryos so we decided not to do go that route this time

Did they check your AMH levels before starting your cycle?

Hopefully your clinic will have told you that PGS has a success rate of 60/70% - a study in the USA actually showed that of women who transferred their last embryo that was tested PGS abnormal a significant number went on to have healthy babies so given that you've only got the 2 I would ask what they intend to do with any abnormal ones?

So sorry it hasn't gone as expected, it's so hard. I think just take each step as it comes rather then thinking too far along, easier said than done. Will you find out tomorrow regarding how many fertilised?

They did all the tests before we started the IVF. We i started the stimulating injection my body was not responding to the medication. I was on the injections longer than normal. We started from having no follicles to 4 follicles then 6 follicles.

I'm keeping everything crossed and hoping the telephone tomorrow will not be too painful.

OP- yes. I had 2 eggs collected. I was expecting it as I had low amh. I had very very low expectations.

However- I egg became an embryo and 2 weeks later was a bfp. He’s now 4.5 and off to school in September! Quality is far far more important than quantity!! Good luck!

I was a poor responder to stims and only 6 eggs were collected of which 4 fertilised and 2 made it to 5 day blasts one was put back and one is in the freezer, the one put back is currently asleep on my chest and hopefully the one in the freezer will become her sibling in a year or two. Like a pp said it's quality not quantity fingers crossed you're as lucky as us.

hi , sorry i'm jumping on this post.

just went for another scan - planned egg collection was sunday! however they said one of the follicles disappeared and they wondered if i ovulated despite suppression medication. now only 2 good size follicles can be seen.

had a blood test to check the hormone level as now they say it might be EC tomorrow! has anyone had anything similar ? can they collect eggs without 36-48 hours trigger injection if i go for EC tomorrow

i am so stressed and had a little cry already

i feel so confused

@2019newbie I just wanted to say I've also had PGD and my first round I didn't respond to the drugs either. I'm the end I went in with around 10 follicles and only got 4 eggs. The others were empty like you. 3 fertilised and one made it to day 5. Unfortunately it was affected. What I will say is don't let it deflate you! At the time I thought something was wrong with me etc. I didn't believe them when they said no two rounds were the same. For round two they tweaked my dose only slightly and I got 27 eggs! Complete contrast. 19 fertilised and 15 made it to day 5. 11 were unaffected. 1 didn't make the thaw and I'm currently 11 weeks with another.

I just wanted to show you that it isn't the end and if this round isn't the one do not give up! The next round could be worlds apart!!
