Did your IVF schedule go to plan?

Due to start ivf journey in two weeks once period make appearance. We’ve been told 12 days of of injections, Then hopefully egg collection end of this month before they are frozen and put later back in.

Just wondered whether your ivf schedule nurse gave went to plan or hiccups along the way. Trying to mentally prepare myself.

I'm surprised they have given you a timeline that specific for a first round of IVF. I was told both times to wait and see but on the first round particularly it took a few days longer than they seemed to expect. It's hard to predict how your body will respond to the meds.

It can be very unpredictable. First cycle was cancelled at baseline scan because I had a cyst. Then on the second attempt I had to stim for longer than I thought, they predicted EC but then I was ready a day early. So it's hard to know when EC will actually happen. Good luck.

Had 2 cycles neither went to plan.

Never worry that coming off the plan is bad. My most off plan cycle was my success full one Grin

Thanks i think it’s a general plan but like you say depends on how my body reacts. I’m just nervous as I have endo and had cysts removed last year. Just hope they don’t come back. Also with work I have time booked off end of summer in the hope transfer happens but we aren’t going anywhere which is bit rubbish but wait a see really.

I’m kind of excited but scared having these hormones pumped into me but I’m sure it’ll be manageable. Right now I feel itching to get started but giving it two weeks of waiting. I’m not the most patient of people

Ours didn’t go to plan, short stims cycle over Christmas 2018. Egg collection early January however it was decided all our eggs to be frozen due to ohss when we had expected a fresh transfer. And then our fet was 3 months from then. Thankfully I am currently pregnant (8wks+2days) with one of the frosties from our cycle. Our egg collection date moved dependent on how my lining was developing and how many eggs were ready so had to stim a few extra days. Nothing in ivf typically goes to plan. Wishing you all the luck in the world with it all. Grin

I had IVF and was successful first time - have a 4 month old DS to show for it. Prior to the IVF I had to have polyps removed, ovaries drilled etc. We had a "schedule" and time line and it went completely textbook and we have two frozen embryos for if we wish to use them.
I guess we were the lucky ones that everything worked so well, so quickly. However, we were told and researched that it might not happen.
I must say the injections did get to me but my DH supported me through the whole journey, we were in it together!
Good luck with it all Smile

Congratulations June340oo, wonderful news 🙂

Was there a reason you had to wait three months before fet? I’m hoping to have mine done next cycle after ec

Mine was pretty much to plan in terms of timeline as did short protocol however had early stage OHSS So clinic made decision to do a freeze all which meant that egg transfer couldn't happen until 6 weeks later

Kitkat369 · 01/07/2019 14:36

So from egg collection did transfer happen 6 weeks after that? The nurse mentioned 12 days after my egg collection I’ll have a withdrawal bleed so not sure if I then start down reg but I’ll just wait to get egg collection out the way.

@Kitkat369
I was on short protocol so no down reg. so my cycle came back almost straight away....

I had egg collection 28th January
5 days later got post EC bleed
2 weeks after that got full period and then i am doing natural non medicated transfers so no down reg - they track natural ovulation and once you get a confirmed LH surge transfer is 5 days later
First FET was 13th March

I know people on long protocol with all the down regging though whose periods took weeks and weeks to come back

I wasn't comfortable "switching everything off" I suppose I was scared it woundnt switch back on which is why we chose short protocol mild IVF and non medicated transfers. My periods are 29 days like clockwork though so clinic was happy to do it

Kitkat369 · 01/07/2019 15:48

I guess I’ll just see what doc says after collection

Yes when I was on a short protocol as timings needed to be pretty strict. In my longer protocol (for a FET) things were a bit more flexible but I wasn’t stimming.
