2 out of 2 - is it possible?

DH and I have unexplained infertility. Long story short, nothing appeared wrong but after trying for almost 2 years, we ended up having ivf in 2016 which resulted in a beautiful DS. I feel so lucky.

We decided to try for a second child recently and after a few months of trying for spontaneous pregnancy, we are now about to start our first medicated FET cycle.

On paper we seem to have a good chance as have 6 embryos in the freezer and all good quality. But the fact that ivf worked with first try before makes me so nervous about this round - I feel as if I have used up all my luck already!

Is anybody out there who managed to get pregnant straight away twice through ivf?

I'd say your chances of IVF working again are higher because the first round worked. Whatever is wrong could be a straightforward fix with IVF. So, good luck!

I'll also be interested to hear any stories as I could have written your post OP!

Have it in the back of my mind that it definitely won't work next time as a) we couldn't be that lucky twice and b) they put the highest quality embryos in the first time..

Oh I feel relieved I am not alone @bluedoor4
I know I should be grateful (and I am!) but it just makes me so nervous

Have you started your new cycle or are think of it/about to?

Hi, we are thinking about it and in fact were going to go for it in July, but I've developed an autoimmune problem (thyroid) and have to be on medication which isn't compatible with pregnancy Sad
I've a feeling we will do it as soon as we can though. My worry is- I've been 'lucky' and not had to deal with a failed ivf cycle, a miscarriage- nothing. So you just wonder if it's worth putting yourself through the rollercoaster, especially as DH is very happy with one.

I had a fresh ivf cycle in 2017 resulting in our little girl and recently had FET with our one and only frozen embryo from that cycle and got another bfp! I never really dared to hope it would work twice in a row for us and am so happy and grateful! So it can definitely happen and you have a great number of frozen embryos too, good luck!

@Annab1983 congratulations! So happy for you.
And thank you for giving me hope Smile

@bluedoor4 yeah I hear you. It does make you wonder if we shouldn't be pushing our luck! But I think I will... it's just going to be a nerve wracking journey eek
Going for 3D sis scan on Friday to kick start it all.. oh how I didn't miss all those hormones
