Pcos help

I know this isn’t a pcos group but I’m wondering if I could get some advice?

Last year I went for an ultrasound and was told by doctors I had multiple cysts on my ovaries and was diagnosed with pcos. My testosterone levels are high, my progesterone levels are low and my Estrogen levels are normal. I went for another scan last week and have been told I have no cysts on my ovaries anymore. I am so confused. Does anyone know why this could be? The doctor was rushing around and I couldn’t ask many questions. I will be booking another appointment to ask more but right now my heads just all over the place. I’m almost at the point of being referred to a fertility clinic and now doctors are saying it may not be necessary

Polycystic ovaries is not the same as pcos. They are often confused (even by health professionals!!!!!!!) for each of their. Polycystic ovaries CAN just be a variant of normal anatomy. Up to 30% of women have pco at some point.

Pcos is a complex endocrine (hormone) disorder that has a huge range in severity and symptoms.

Some women with pcos don't have polycysitic ovaries. It is but one of many symptoms that can be indicative. Generally you need two of the three following criteria for a pcos diagnosis:
Fsh:lh ratio of 1:2 or higher
Polycystic ovaries
Irregular cycles, thinned hair, dofficulty losing weight, facial hair, spots, etc...

Pco can come and go.

Thank you for replying, I don’t have any symptom of pcos apart from high testosterone and low progesterone. My periods are regular and everything else seems to be normal now. I’m not really sure what’s going on. Just hoping I don’t have Pcos
