What was your AMH and how many eggs did you get?

Hi,

I am interested to know people's experiences with EC and AMH and possibly age. I am 31, have an AMH of 11 and the nurse said they would expect to collect 8-10 eggs with that. Would anyone else care to share what theirs was and how things progressed? E.g. day 2/5 transfer? How many did you have to freeze?

Thank you!

Age 31 for cycle 1. AMH 8.4. 20 eggs - 14 fertilised embryos - no good quality blasts day 5.

Age 32 for cycle 2. AMH not re tested. DH has surgical retrieval of sperm this time.
22 eggs, 13 fertilised. 2 transferred day 3. One baby (just breastfeeding him now!) and two Frosties in the freezer.

@zest11. Yes it was a huge relief. At least one stage over with for now. Praying for the next part to be successful. Clinic said I was high risk because I had 30 follicles (not all mature) at last scan and my oestrogen levels were through the roof. They made the decision to freeze all on day of egg collection. At first I was upset but then after the state I was in after egg collection I’m
Glad that I have had time to recover properly

AMH of 21.6 aged 35.

Clinic 1 (Greece) ICSI
Short protocol > 24 eggs > 3 x 3 day embryos transferred fresh and 2 6 day blasts frozen. Resulted in 6 week miscarriage (fresh) and BFN (FET).

Clinic 2 (UK) IVF
Short protocol > 26 eggs (!) > 3 x 5day and 3x 6 day blasts. Freeze-all (sent for PGS). FET of genetically normal blast resulted in current 19 week pregnancy.

In my case, my AMH means that I make loads of eggs but they're not necessarily going to fertilise or indeed do anything other than send my oestrogen very high and make me feel rubbish. We definitely shouldn't have transferred on my first cycle as the OHSS risk was huge looking back. I don't have PCOS or anything like that ... just go like a rocket on the lowest dose of stimms. Which is a huge pain. Hoping that I never have to do IVF again!

Thank you all so much for replying and sharing your experiences. My conclusions are that no conclusions can be drawn from this! Grin

Hi I had an AMH 3.4
7 eggs retrieved
6 fertilised with icsi
4 made it to day 5 blastocyst
2 were transferred as both poor quality
(Other two were not graded as too poor quality)

BFP on one of those in my double embryo transfer. I currently have my healthy 3 month old daughter sleeping next to me in her cot. That was my first ivf cycle. I must have found my golden egg 🥚 x

At 36 my AMH was 15.6, Antral follicle count was 28, we had 36 follicles, 16 retrieved, 8 fertilised, 4 to blastocyst.

Had two put back in and got my ds2, and another two put back in 2 years later which stuck but miscarried, so in all those eggs there was only 1 goodie Shock

Chillichutney1 · 07/06/2019 11:15

BottomleyPottsSpots2 how many of your 6 blasts that you tested were genetically normal?

CornishMaid1 · 07/06/2019 13:53

First cycle I was 35, AMH was around 31 or 32.

Lite cycle due to risk of OHSS with high AMH and 1 egg collected which didn't fertilise.

@Zest11 My understanding is that AMH gives the consultants an idea of how many eggs a woman has left and they use it to predict how someone will respond to treatment so they'll probably give someone with a low AMH a much higher dose of follicle stimulating hormones to try to get more eggs per cycle than someone with a higher AMH who would be at greater risk of OHSS.
