Progesterone side effects

Hello I'm after some advice please I'm using progesterone suppositories only one per day as prescribed by gynaecologist due to bleeding in pregnancy and three previous loses.
I didn't start it till ten weeks so possibly to late but since starting my mood has gone down and I'm having very bad stomach issues cramps loose stools sorry tmi.
Then this morning I felt so sick on waking I was sick and the bile was like orange in colour very bright orangey and I just generally feel so awful.
Anyone else have awful side effects taking this? I'm seeing midwife tomorrow so will discuss with her 😕
Side note I'm using at night to lessen symptoms as advised but it's not helping. Any advice would be welcome thanks

One pessary a day is a low dose so I wouldn't expect such strong side effects. There is a tummy bug going around here.... are u sure you haven't had that?

Progesterone slows the digestive system as it makes the muscles relax so constipation is generally more of an issue

Hi thank you for reply I know its lower in dose than the instructions say in the box but no it's not a tummy bug I'm pretty sure it's progesterone related. I take my levo thyroxine at night also I wonder if there is cross issue between the two.
I'm wonder if this is making my progesterone levels higher than need be at that's the problem Im going to ring gp

How many weeks are you? How long are they planning to keep on it for?

From 10 weeks onwards most people on the ivf threads are starting to stop progesterone as the body apparently should be supporting itself by then? I was on full dose until 12 weeks (lubion and 4 cyclogest) and then was weaned off it over 3 weeks. I saw my anxiety Levels fluctuate (that's what hormones do to
Me) and my digestive system was a bit upset every time I reduced

Speak to a medical person. They should be able to help I'm sure

Hello thank you for reply I believe I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and I've been given three weeks worth as my gynaecologist saw no benefit taking them after 13 weeks.

I feel like I have the worst morning sickness and really bad ibs also now I feel a bit poorly before hand but this is really Extra bad and I'm worried as I'm not sure about these symptoms 😔
My levels weren't tested so not sure they were low but I keep having missed miscarriages between 8 to 10 weeks and then started bleeding at 7 weeks with this pregnancy.

I only asked for progesterone due to info about the prism trial my gynaecologist didn't want to prescribe it but looked into the info and decided I could have it.
Just feeling a bit lost now as I think it was given too late and now it's making me ill
