FET: anything to help implantation?

Hi all,

I am waiting for my first FET and thinking is there anything I can do to help implantation or get in the best shape for it (apart of taking all the meds obviously). I was thinking vitamins, supplement, lose a bit of weight I put on during last IVF.

I'm 33, we have male factor and 2 frosties from last IVF that look nice. I want to be in best shape for them. Any advice would be most welcome.

I would try fertility acupuncture and also cut out Diet Coke etc as there has been some studies which suggested that ivf success rates were as much as 25% lower if you drank diet drinks (due to the aspartame)

Hi there

I had a successful FET over 9 years ago now - this followed a cancelled cycle as I didn’t really respond to the meds during the first fet cycle. I can’t remember exactly but I’m pretty sure I took Maca supplements, royal jelly and ate lots of Brazil nuts. The difference in my womb lining was amazing. I did have extra oestrogen patches on top of the pills the 2nd time round so it could have been because of that but the extras may have helped - who knows. I did everything I could - that’s all that matters - and luckily it was successful. Good luck xx

Hi we had FET back in Jan, didnt eat anything special, no supplements etc. Just drank a litre of water before the transfer. Actually made sure I was drinking 2 litres a day. Transfer successful, went shopping afterwards and a big mexican meal, currently 19+6 weeks pregnant. The only thing I didnt do was swimming, steam rooms, hot baths- that kind of thing.

This is 10 years ago now but after an unsuccessful attempt I read about an Israeli study where rates of implantation were improved by showing women comedy videos in the waiting period. The laughter seemed to make a difference? I tried it and my FET worked.

They say only the strongest embryos survive the freezing and thawing process so if you’ve got one to transfer you’ll be into a winner! This is why FET can often be more successful. My FET baby was a huge sumo baby with the most amazing hair when she was born 🤣- a strong gymnast now. I often put it down to her being from a strong embryo 😂. My second daughter was ICSI but wasn’t frozen - over a pound lighter at birth and much less hair. Although she’s very strong minded. I do wonder if any extra ingredient was out in their embryos as they’re both nuts.

Pineapple juice. There’s something in the core that aids implantation.
