Tell me it gets better - ivf cycles

I’m currently 4 days past egg collection. Long protocol. Been pumping myself full of drugs to get some nice juicy eggs. Collection on Wednesday 14 collected and it was fucking painful. After I was sore very bloated and in a lot of pain. I’m high risk OHSS so will be freeze all of we make it that far.

4 days later and I still feel awful. Not as bloated but exhausted no energy weak and sick. Pathetic, upset and useless. In a state about work and general shit.

Is this a side effect of drugs? Like the come down??? I almost want to shoot myself up with some supercure just to get a hit! Joking obviously but this is fucking awful. I’m crying all the time totally emotionally unstable and just feel shit

Hi OP I also had to do a freeze all just before Easter as at risk of OHSS and I also developed a polyp. I felt really grotty but after a week or so I did start to feel more myself. It’s really hard physically and emotionally. I’m about to start injecting for my frozen transfer on wed and feeling quite nervous about starting it again. Good luck. It’s a tough road.

Thank you both. I just feel so rubbish. It’s so much easier I feel of you had a broken leg or whatever because people can see on the outside. But when it’s the inside i feel it’s harder to justify. I thought I would be ok but I’ve been quite wrong. Maybe I just haven’t given t long enough yet.

@mouse how are you feeling about your FET?

You poor thing. My first cycle was freeze all as I had ohss. It's awful, even the very beginning, so please be kind to yourself. Have they given you medication to treat he over stimulation? I can't remember what it was called but I definitely had something.

@loopylou1984 thank you. Yes they have given me a tablet that I need to take for 8 days. Makes me feel drunk! Ha!

@loopylou1984 4 embryos are suitable for freezing. Less pain today just a total hormonal mess.

I had 18 eggs collected (ouch) and got 5 blastocysts from that. So fairly similar.

They'll make you rest for a couple of cycles most likely. You want you reproductive system back to healthy condition before you pop your potential baby in there. Hope you're feeling better today.
