Hi all!
I would be so grateful for any advice anyone has. My partner and I have been trying to conceive for almost two years. In the last two years I have had 3 periods. I have had scans etc and all is ok, but I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS. My partners sperm count etc is all normal.
I have finally been put on Provera and I take my last tablet tomorrow night. The doctor has then explained I should have a period/bleed within another 7days. Then I begin Chlomid.
I was just wondering whether anyone has been through similar? I am so worried that I am not going to have a bleed and I have heard good and bad things about Chlomid. Many thanks 🙂

@Tryingmybest318 I have been diagnosed with pcos, but I have quite regular periods between 29-36 days.
I haven't experienced Provera, so not sure with this sorry.
I am on Clomid and personally, I've not had any issues with it. I'm on cycle 2 now with it and I didn't have any side effects last cycle, other than the odd few twinges (very mild and don't even know whether this was even the Clomid, but only thing different I'd had). It helped regulate my cycle and I had a good sized follicle at scans, so I have nothing bad to report with Clomid!! Good luck! X

Provera should bring on a bleed.

You should be monitored whilst on clomid as it is quite powerful stuff; no monitoring is not acceptable!. You should at least have regular ultrasound scans done to ensure an egg is actually leaving the ovary. If you are not monitored you have no idea whether its supposed to be doing its job properly, clomid's main aim is to work the ovaries harder.

Do educate yourself further re PCOS; Verity's website is a helpful resource as well www.verity-pcos.org.uk

Thanks everyone.
I have taken my last Provera tablet tonight, so now the Dr has said that I should have a bleed within the next 7 days. Fingers crossed!!
I will then start the Chlomid on day 2 of the bleed and then have a scan a few days later.
Feeling very anxious but hopeful 🙂
